Are we allowed to say two forty three again yet? If not, why not?
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

So the .257 has always been the Roberts - the Bob

Is now the .two43 the Jeniffer - the Jenny???

I mean it is a ladies gun - a chic cartridge - so I hear.

I'm out-a here until this site can stop interference with what I type.

    pwillie,

quote:Did Roy Weatherby ever make a cartridge for it?

This is the only 6mm cartridge Roy developed that I am aware of:

    240 Weatherby Magnum
    - 1968 -
Delivers 3,500 fps muzzle velocity (80 grain bullet) and is, on average, considerably faster than any existing standard 6mm cartridge.

    Best.

It isn't particularly necessary to remind everyone just how masculine you are.

That thread started over two things; your cock-o'-the-walk attitude, and a random person at the range having an opinion. When they tossed a little of your own brand back your way, you sure didn't hesitate to remind them how masculine you were, up to and including physical violence, to prove your point.

Much the same here. You make it a point to remind everyone just how masculine you are, regularly. I can't think of anyone here that honestly cares. You yourself should, and that's about it.
An unarmed man can only flee from evil, and evil is not overcome by fleeing from it.

It started out life as a Remington 700 adl 30/06 from Walmart.
It is being fitted with a 26" Bartlein 1-8 twist barrel and a Bell and Carlson stock and Timney trigger, Cerakoted and glass bedded with a fluted bolt. it will receive a Leupold VX5 scope and will be highly treasured. Of course it has been all trued up and all the goodies

I have two. One in A Winchester model 88 and one in a Remington Model 700 BDL. The stock on the BDL is really cool. It has somewhat of a green hue to it. Not sure I spelled that correctly.[8)] The dealer I bought it from, had second thoughts about letting me walk out with it. He was going to keep it for himself. Came new from the factory like that. I put a thumbhole stock on it, and put the nice BDL stock away for resale purposes. The 700 shoots like a dream. For some reason, The Model 88 kicks like a mule. Had several people shoot it and all said the same thing. Why is that???? Oak
