New NJ handgun permit law coming soon

I found out last night from someone that has the inside scoop, at a behind doors meeting. The state wants the state police to handle all handgun permits and NOT the local PD. This will make it longer to get a permit done because everyone will have to go to the local state police barracks. This will create a back log and they will take longer to process. It will also cut out the local PD. The police chief association is having a bird because they want to know who has a gun in their town. They say it will take less time to process by cutting out one agency and their two dollar app fee. The state police will only take these apps to Trenton, once a month to be processed, so it will languish there for a while. Instead of taking the required 30 days to process, it will take upwards of 3 to 6 months now. Not looking good for us citizens of this communist hell hole called NJ. Another one of our rights being abused by the liberals that the hoodrats elect every year. Funny how every time they elect a new person to congress, senate, Governor, mayor, what ever, the first thing they say is, we need tougher gun laws in NJ. I think they have trampled our right to own a gun enough. They are more concerned with taking our tax money and giving it to the junkies and babies mama's in the hood to go buy more heroin.[;)][;)][;)]Once I move, I am NOT coming back to even visit. If family wants to see us, they will have to come south. Oakie

There is proposed legislation in VA this year for a lifetime CHP. So for $50 more than my current CHP I could get a lifetime issued, which beats having to update it every 5 years. I doubt McAuliffe will sign it but we shall see once it makes it out of committee.

New Jersey is one of the few States that don't have a "Right to Bear Arms" clause in their State Constitution.

Gun owners are obviously a small minority in the socialist state of NJ. Election results show an overwhelming majority of voters in the state want big government socialism and have little concern for the Second Amendment.

It does not surprise me the lard * socialist running the state would want to consolidate police power.

Just the opposite. mostly gun owners, just that there is so much crime in the cities that they want stricter gun laws. NJ is mostly made up of rural town with a few large cities that control the votes[}:)][}:)][}:)] Not being a racist, but they mostly elect either blacks or Jewish , which here in this state are mostly anti gun. Most of my friends that are Jewish are very anti gun except one. The Governor has bigger aspirations as that is why he votes Liberal most of the time. He will not make it on the republican ticket and wait and see if he switches parties. It happens here all the time. Our one pro gun senator, Sweeny, wants to run for Governor. He became anti gun over night. He was a member at our club and just quit and became anti gun for political aspirations. POS. Oakie

They should be lifetime. My Virginia permit expired while I was in NY and I have to start the process all over again when I move back to Va. However, I got my NY State permit, a very anti-gun state, in 1977 and it's valid for life. Go figure.

To all: Some of you are talking about a license to possess- others are talking about a license to carry.

Here in VA there is no license to own a gun. My VA license to carry concealed took 3 days.

Oakie- take 95 South until you see the sign with the cardinals and dogwood blossoms, and the Welcome to Virginia message. We have plenty of land, taxes are mo' better and we have places to shoot. C'mon down.

Silly Yankees. Just do it like we do in Kennesaw. All adults not otherwise prohibited are required by law to own a gun. Crime? What crime.
