Nascar Attendance Today

There is a whole lot of empty seats today. I wonder how long before sponsorship drops or the rates go down.

I would love to see the attendance for todays race.

Personally, I wouldn't care if no one showed up. Lost interest in NASCAR 4-5 years ago. NASCAR is not racing anymore. Just cars following each other on a track with the same leaders and winners race after race--month after month--year after year. HO-HUM!

I would think NASCAR would eliminate the tracks with poor attendance and stay more in the South.

They've been doing that. They've also been eliminating a lot of seats so the tracks don't look so empty.

Atlanta Motor Speedway is just 3 or 4 miles from my house and I took this picture of them tearing down these stands down back in January.

Other sports seem to be doing well as the NBA just signed a 24 Billion dollar deal. What happen to Nascar and when will it end. I live pretty close to Bristol and the roads were full of RVs etc. before and after each race and now I can hardly tell when race week is beginning or ended. Back about 10-15 years ago my son loved Nascar and we would take him to the NASCAR SpeedPark at Sevierville, Tennessee often and it was full up. Now it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't close it as the land it so valuable around there it could be put to better use.

I had Bristol season tickets for 30+ years. Some years as many as 9 tickets. I gave up my last two after last year for two main reasons. The cost of tickets wasn't a problem and some complain about the rising cost of gas but I don't agree with that. First and foremost it's the cars. I remember Fireball running those Pontiacs until he won or blew up. I remember Joe winning Daytona in of all things an Oldsmobile in '59. The battles of Chrysler, Ford, and GM were exciting because we all could relate to the cars we were watching race. Now the cars are all the same - safer for sure but not as exciting. Second is the cost of lodging. We liked to stay at the Red Roof in Johnson City and did for many years. $500.00 for two nights compared to $106.00 for two nights a couple of weeks later just got to be too much. Nothing lasts forever. Simply, The Thrill is Gone. R.I.P., B.B.

I agree. I would like to see 2 road courses added as well. Any would do, but if they asked me....Laguna Seca(sp?) and Road America would be awesome!

I tried to watch the race Sunday. They has 13 laps to go and I turned the channel to the first 48. That is sad.[V] Ten years ago, Donna and I had Nascar parties here every weekend and 20 to 30 people would come over all day and Gamble on the race and drink and hoot an holler. We would have six tv's going at once so we didn't miss a thing from room to room and outside by the fire pit. Now I don't care about a race except Daytona and Talladega.

I got started watching the truck races a few years ago when GunBroker had the truck running full time. Now that is over. Nascar needs a major overhaul and soon or they are doomed in my opinion.
