what does it represent ?

its part of our history, its not racist because that is not what the C I V I L W A R was about at all {it was taxes not slavery, in fact northern slaves where not freed until 2 years after the war etc etc, but that's another thread}

why is it racist today?

only because certain groups, insignificant groups at that, they have used the flag wrongfully as their motto or insignia , so in this PC world of ignorance it has become b@st@rdized and desecrated into something it is not and out of ignorance and arrogance the flag has become a symbol of defeat , liberals and idiots of all races believe by removing this flag it will remove racism and identify those that cling to racism, it will no further end racism as those that believed electing a black president would erase racism in this country

a few things I have said many times still hold true to me

I don't care what race you are as long as you don't care what race you are

those that are most often fixated on race are the most racist

that's what I was thinking last night. a flag didn't make that little twerp feel like he did or make him do what he did; he was filled with hate and racism, and he chose that flag.

The confederate battle flag represents liberty from oppressive government. It was the flag of those fighting the second war of independence. Which was and is a constitutional right.

"The War"....was for the right of self determination for 13 states...There is no United States ,its the Federal Territory of North America. States are in name only...

The flag I fly, the clothes I wear, the place I live, the vehicle I drive, the firearms I collect and shoot are all to please myself. I do nothing to intentionally cause harm to anyone.

I don't particularly give an airborne rodent's rectum what anybody else thinks about any of it. They may scream epithets and hang labels until their buttocks fall off and it will not change a thing.

Having lived in the South for my entire life (so far), I've been pummeled by the idiotic antics of blacks hundreds of times. Fighting with racist feelings has been a cross I've born my entire life (so far), and the few pleasant interactions I've had with black folks who simply want to get along, work their job, raise their kids, and live their lives as decent human beings have served to enrich my opinions quite a bit.

Pop used to say "shut up and color." I agree.

Call your state reps and play "Dixie" for them until they remember they
represent a southern state, should they to fall to the ignorance of giving in to liberal demands. If they take the flag, get a General Lee
car horn and do "Dixie" drive by honkings until they repent!

    I guess flies cause garbage.

If that idiot was driving a Mustang, would FoMoCo be responsible for supporting racism?

Can the world get any more stupid?

Remember, too, that one big reason, aside from what you have mentioned, is that the Confederate flag was buzzardized because of the growing socialist and communist push that began immediately after WWII in earnest with the NAACP right in the middle of this mix. Their movement approached its heyday in the late fifties and early sixties, and has been carried by politicians, tax dollars and whatever they have been able to extort from corporations and such ever since.

During this time, the NAACP and other black radical groups were right in the middle of this mix pushing hard to demonize all things southern since segregation was still being practiced in the South. This is when a new kind of Klan was evolving with their members wearing Nazi uniforms and also carrying the Nazi flag and the Confederate Battle Flag during their demonstrations. This played right into the hands of the powerful anti-traditional American agenda and supported the growth of the socialist problems that plague this country today, which now includes demonizing Old Glory as well in their push for more wealth redistribution, especially of the slave reparations kind for them.
    What's next?

{it was taxes not slavery, since the South had a trade surplus with the rest of the world and the North had a trade deficit with the rest of the world, can it just be that any other issues such as taxes that the South raised were just contrived to help it break away to form its own slave owning, money earning nation?
