Bad police car accident up the street

Somebody just ran a stop sign and broad sided one of our township police trucks, right behind our house. The Black Yukon that hit the police car, has heavy damage and took off. Police truck flipped over. We got state police helicopters flying all around looking for the people that did this. We live in the pine barrens and their is a ton of places to hide in the woods down dirt roads. The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Our house is shaking from all the helicopters. We never heard the accident and it happened about 100 yards from our back door. Got cops waling everywhere with flash lights right now. I will update you all when I here more. We are having the pan am race this weekend at the Atco Raceway, so it was probably and out of state driver that didn't know the stop sign was there. We have like ten million Mexicans invading our little town for the weekend. It is a mess here. Oakie

Sounds like a good night to stay in and watch the tube, or play here. Hope they catch the guy soon. I can relate to the helo's and the noise.

Should be heavy front end damage to the Yukon making it easy to ID. Surprised it didn't loose coolant.

Here it is the next morning and they still have nothing. My neighbor two doors down is the Chief of police. We were just talking out front and he said that they think it was an out of state person because they way they blew the stop sign. If your a local, you know that is a stop, if not, you WILL run it because a tree blocks the sign. Just great. we have all been complaining about the tree blocking this stop sign for years, so maybe now they will remove the tree, since someone from the township got hurt. Last week a woman got killed there and the week before two people were critically injured there. WTH does it take to get the friggen tree removed.

I am just glad the officer is okay. He was treated and released and is just fine. Airbag and seat belt saved him from a certain death. I did not recognize the officers name, so he must be a rookie. I know all the police since this is a one horse town and a lot of them are friends or friends of a friend. I don't care if you like cops or not, you don't like to see this happen to anyone. The truck was last spotted a few miles away in another county heading toward Philadelphia. I bet they find it in a few days and it will be reported stolen. We will see and I will keep you all updated. Thank God our officer was okay. Oakie

there was a stop sign here years ago that was hard to see due to small trees hiding it in the summer, some one cut them down one night and no one complained.mr myopic.

Depends on how much the local fuzz makes from writing tickets for not stopping at the hidden stop sign.

Our K-9 car was t-boned a couple weeks ago while at a stop sign. It's totaled but the person's insurance is being cheap and not wanting to total it. Fortunately the officer and dog were not injured.

We have about three or four of these nonvisable stop signs. It would actually cost money to cut these branches back and take away from the local politicians pockets[;)][;)][;)][;)].
