OK, since I was a young un' I always enjoyed a good scary movie or two on Halloween nights.

My favorites were good old Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Jr. and the classics from way back when.

Never much cared for the newer blood and guts stuff, but to each his own.

Anyone care to share what they enjoy?

Who needs a horror movie when we can watch the election coverage?

How about the really bad ones, like Plan 9 From Outer Space?

I found a poster of HRC. If I need a good scare I unfurl it and imagine she has won the election.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

wife and I both love a good scary movie , we just watched several of the classics on the turner classic channel from the 30's 40's even with out all the special effects of today they are still great to watch , they way our imagination was guided with sound , and backdrops , costumes and you feel like your part of it . of course it throws up back in time to our youth .
also like newer scary movies but some just do not cut it .
but the special effects and computer generated parts are great in a lot of them some over the top ,
hard to compare them to the classics they will always be "well classics [:D][:D]" same with old westerns ( another favorite of mine )

The scariest movie I've ever seen is the original, "The Haunting." Turner Classic movies is showing it in about an hour. If you have TCM, watch it.

You don't see the ghosts - but they're there.

watching the election now is like watching the old movie in a theatre when i was a young kid "THE THING" when the block of ice is melting and the chap is sitting there with his back to it playing solitaire and it melts down to where a monster finger twitches....i remember hauling * out and the blocks thru the darkend streets and alleys home was a real trip...beastie was played by Jim Arness brother...both big guys

In my opinion the best scary movies are the ones that don't show monsters or slashers or stupid looking robot aliens but rather the ones that only show shadows or things moving that make you wonder what they are.

99% of current day "horror" movies are NOT horror movies, but are instead, "gore" movies. Which suck imo.

HUGE fan of horror movies, NOT a fan of gore.
