Got an estimate to tile two showers and most of the flooring in my house. $37,000. Wow. Seems like a lot.

You can tell from their firearm design that the russians are sado-masochists.

I had a 'remodeling' company give me an estimate on a bathroom (7 x 12) remodel - $26,000, and two weeks work time.
Told them to GTFO and did it myself in 3 weeks for $4000.
If you want someone else to do the work - you are gonna PAY.

I've seen some showers where that kind of money would be a Huge bargain. And Then Some![;)]
It cost $100,000.00 to build any house, any where, any time......... What? Huh?
I don't think so.
Details my friend.....Details. They are important.
Out of the question. If you couldn't afford $4.00 a round .22 ammo,,,,[;)][;)]
Get a couple estimates. But yeah, home upgrades are pricey.
This Thread is kind of like saying I went out to buy a new car, and they quoted me $2,000,000.00 for one. Now the question is was that one that they quoted you on, a 1992 Accord, or was it a 1971 Barracuda convertible...
The devil is in the details...
Tile estimate was based on middle of the road tile cost as we haven't even looked yet. Both showers are standard bathtub footprint. One has tub one does not. It was $7,000+ for the stand alone shower, $5,000+ for the tubbed shower, and $24,000+ for the floor tile.
Yes, another contractor coming Monday for estimate and got a card from the crew painting the house next door. Best deal may be from a handyman type.

Look at photo's of jobs your bidders have done.
Maybe do one section at a time. I'd get all painting done first. That will keep ladders, scaffolding, and paint off your new floors.
