Football Friday Night

Well, I sat down and looked across the field and saw the size of the boys from DeQueen. I was impressed. They looked ready for some football. They may have been ready, just not ready for the air/running game that Watson Chapel opened up early and often. The Cats looked unstoppable last night.
Final score WC 48, DeQueen 9. One more down in Coach Shelton's quest for the 100 win career. Looks good for homecoming next Friday to be his 100th win.
I about lost control when #23, DB (my son) caught the ball during a kick off. Coach moved him to the return team this year after noting that he is one of the fastest on the team and has played that position during practice to work out the kick off team. Josh loves being on the field now as much as possible, d-back, kick-offs and returns now as well.
You couldn't tell by looking at him last night that we had been at the hospital the night before with 100.7 degree fever, raw throat and headache. Oh, the miracle of modern medicine!!
Anyway, he stepped back into the end zone when he took the ball and took off like a bullet, headed toward the other end. He cut left, then right, ran through a pack of Leopards and then he was gone. 100 yards into the end zone and a tad bit of celebration! Then we hear the whistle and look back to see a flag was thrown.
Blocking in the back was called and the ball was brought back to about the Watson Chapel 30. So, how did Chapel answer? With a TD run, of course. [^]
My son put up great numbers in the tackles and broken plays. Looks as if his track season skills are paying off on the gridiron. [8D]
