Well, that is, if we're talkin' about the Chevelle? [:)]
The Chevelle is a car... Well, I think I'd like to own one. [8D]

Which year was the LS7?
I'd love to have an Ermine white '66 SS396.[8D]
+1
My first car was a '71 Chevelle, so that will always be best in my book. It was a red car with a black vinyl interior and no a/c. What was Chevy thinking?
Running crap like AC and power steering takes horspower. They wanted all available delivered to the rear tires.
I haven't checked this site for accuracy, but, looks to be good; with regards to the Chevelle, '64-'73.

In '73, Chevrolet KILLED the Chevelle. [xx(][xx(][xx(] IMO, '64-'72, all of the cars look good.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
I'd say '67 was the best year for all of the muscle cars because that was the last year before the smog equipment followed by the fuel shortage/removal of lead that put the skids to them.
The smog rules started in 1972. Thats when compression dropped to meet them and the era of dog mobiles started. I think there were just a few things before 72' that really didnt effect performance all that much.
