SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT! Hip Hip Hoorayyyyyyyyyy!!

Finally, someone has said what I think has been on every American's
mind!!!!!

This is an editorial written by an American citizen, published in a
local newspaper.

"IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS, MUST ADAPT!!"

I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some
individual or their culture.

Since the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, we have experienced a surge in
patriotism by the majority of Americans.

However, the dust from the attacks had barely settled when the
"politically correct" crowd began complaining about the possibility that
our patriotism was offending others.

I am not against immigration, nor do I hold a grudge against anyone
who is seeking a better life by coming to America.

Our population is almost entirely composed of descendants of
immigrants.

However, there are a few things that those who have recently come to
our country, and apparently some born here, need to understand.

This idea of America being a multicultural community has served only
to dilute our sovereignty and our national identity.

As Americans, we have our own culture, our own society, our own
language and our own lifestyle.

This culture has been developed over centuries of struggles, trials,
and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.

We speak ENGLISH, not Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or
any other language.

Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the
language!

"In God We Trust" is our national motto. This is not some Christian,
right wing, political slogan. We adopted this motto because Christian men and
women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly
documented.

It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools.

If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the
world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.

If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you
should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet.

We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we
really don't care how you did things where you came from.

This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle.

Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his
opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so.

But, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our
flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage
you to take advantage of one other great American freedom,

THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.

If you agree, pass it on. If you don't agree, pass it on anyway.

The real challenge is convincing G.W. that the ILLEGALS need to start adapting to our IMMIGRATION LAWS!!!
    I'm sometimes certain he's a lost cause.

I wondered how long we would have to go out of our way to make them feel at home, as apposed to them acting like THIS is there home. Adapt already.

Guys, you aren't going to like this ... it's our own da*n fault. We have made it so attractive - so easy to come here and live comfortably (relative speaking) you would have to be an idiot not to join in. Don't get me wrong. My two grand dads came from Vienna and somewhere in Russia back around 90 years ago. Do you think that the first thing they did was sign up for gov. assistance? He** no. They worked is sh*t jobs, brought up their kids, put them through school, and cbxjeff had a pretty good life as their grandson. I went to Kroger tonight and they have a whole isle of products listed in Spanish. I've got no problem with some one struggling with the language. I'm leaving in 6 days for Munich for my first european trip, and I'm trying like he** to learn some German. This country has turned into a give away society. I think we all know who is paying for it.

Darn it, GH, why did you get me started!

Dee, well said and AMEN. Bush is not going to do anything about the illegals because he is afaird of losing the Hispanic vote. He is crawdadding on his campain promises and playing politics. Just one more time in my life, I would like to vote for someone, instead of against someone else. I was hoping Bush would not resort to playing politics, but it appears he is letting Daesheal (not sure on the spelling) set the agenda.

Don't blame the politicians for putting up signs in stores and restaurants and other business locations, The almighty dollar is why those "Espanol? Si!" signs are on the wall, not political correctness, also a large part of why so many illegals are unreported and undetected, some one with large deep pockets would rather pay an illegal half wages and no insurance or benefits, workers comp. Social Security Etc. and then He wants HIS illegal to come and spend the little money He earns at HIS business, so up goes the signs.

Many of my ancestors and relatives fought (and a few died) to make, and keep, this country free. Now the politicians are destroying all that those good and brave people built with their underhanded tactics. I take that as a personal insult. Everytime I see or hear any of this PC BS I get angry. Yes, I too am disappointed in the way "Dubya" is conducting his administration. At least we knew what Clinton was from the *-go. "Dubya" sure fooled me.

Where did we get an American Culture? Aren't we almost all decendants of immigrants? What made America great was the "Melting Pot" mentality. All the immigrants came together and combined their values and beliefs to create an American Culture, you were proud to be an American, even if you'd only been here a short while. Now people who have lived their whole lives in America are trying to differentiate themselves by being overly proud of their individual heritage, rather than being proud of their country (group heritage). It goes back to society becoming overly individualistic instead of working for the better good.

WOW! This topic is sure to go ballistic soon.
It has finally been said and I'm sure that most all of US on this board agree with it! Now what 's the next step? We have been bending over backward for so long to appease and please these alleged guests who come here crying to get in then want us to conform to their ways and customs from home, THAT THEY JUST FLED TO GET HERE!
Does anybody remember the young student pukes, when Iran invaded US Territory and kidnapped US Citizens, that were all over the place saying how great it was that * Khomenhi had dealt a defeat to the great SATAN (that's us people)?
What do you do about those scumbags? Are we ready or capable as a people of physicaly rounding them up like cattle and sending them back to where they came from, forcefully if needed?
Remember the opening scenes from Ghandi? The South Africans took a public black eye, but the foreign laborers were deported and Ghandi went back to his native land where he proceeded to give the English and his own people fits until his assasination.
That's what it will take, these people ain't leaving willingly. They would have sold themselves to get here and now that they are here they are determined to remake us.
I am not against immigration either. I am all for it, as was pointed out almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants! In my own case
one side of the family has been here just over 200 years, the other side only 100 or so. That's practically fresh off the boat by comparison to a lot of Japanese and Chinese Lineages. My wife's aunt can do her tree back to 1600. The only differance that matters to me is I am an American first, last and always! Not Irish, French Spanish or anything else. I don't want to change my country to something else so it will be PERFECT UTOPIA I happen to love my country warts and all. And anybody else that feels that way, that they want to adapt to this country instead of changing it to what they think it should be is welcome as a fellow American.

Didn't Ted Nugent say something along these lines a few years back? He at least said something similar, and I don't think it could be more true. I find it ironic that as more and more immigrants come into our country, more and more of the blue collar jobs (such as auto manufacturing) are packing up and leaving for the countries that those immigrants came from. They say they come here for opportunities. Hell, the opportunities are going to them, so why don't they just stay there? I don't think anything pisses me off more than to be walking through a store and pass people in the isle talking their pig latin trash. The tests they have to take to become a U.S. citizen are written in whatever language they can read. In my opinion, if you can't read and speak English enough to pass a U.S. citizenship test, stay the hell out. Only my opinions though, I'm sure others on this forum think differently.

Well, I still live in Miami, and was born to Cuban parents. They've lived and worked here (in legal jobs) for over 35 years. I completely agree with the people that come over here and thing that the US has to adapt to their ways of life, and that everyone needs to learn their language. My parents are older, and we all know its hard to teach an old dog new tricks. They don't speak perfect English, but then again they don't go around expecting everyone to know spanish. They do what they can with what they got, and thats more than i can say for a lot of the people that are coming to this country now. They don't expect any type of help from the government and have been working in this country for as long as they have lived here.

Just remember that not everyone that goes around speaking spanish is speaking "pig latin trash". There are a few people that are actually proud to be in this country. My parents both tell me that they feel more American than they do Cuban(they are naturalized citizens of this great country btw). I couldn't be prouder of them and the way the feel...Just want to let people know that there are a few "good" immigrants too.

    Pikeal1,
Alex, that is exactly what I meant, Your folks came here and didn't ask anybody to change for them, they made and are still making the effort! I for one am glad that they and you are here, no matter what language they are most comfortable in they are Americans.
