Is it some kind of parasitic worm causes that hole?

Nasty stuff. But the horses recover fine usually. Basically the same organism that cause distemper, just migrates to different part of anatomy. The name "pigeon fever" has to do with the swelling of those breast areas. Has nothing to do with birds. Usually once and done, similar to childhood diseaes.

From what iv read that's what pigeon fever is. Just a abscess thats caused by organism's and sometimes the bust causing the hole.

The infectious organism is transferred from one animal to the next by flies. Bot flies, while being a parasite, do not manifest in that manner. It is my belief bot flies are found throughout the west, and am sure they are here in northern Colorado / southern Wyoming. I was taught that the tiny yellow specks found on the forelegs of horses (generally in late summer) are in fact bot fly eggs. After fly season an appropriate wormer should be given to limit bot fly parasite damage.
