Gun owners who remain in New York (and a few other states) remind me of Jews who remained in Nazi Germany after 1938.

As the Amityville house said GET OUT!!!

    Wulfmann,

If you study history you'll soon find that the majority of Jews couldn't move anywhere even if they wanted to. Those that could move quite often moved right back into the path of the Nazis. Moving was not really the solution. The solution, and the only solution, was resistance and help from allied nations.

You may not know NY State. It's really two states in one. Since big city populations outnumber rural populations we're unfortunately governed (at least in theory) by big city liberals. On the face of things that's the way it is in NY.

But all may not be as it seems. We in rural NY don't have much use for Albany. We tend to ignore Andy and his cronies to the full extent possible. Should Andy ever find out about the extent of the hostility toward him and begin to understand that his SAFE Act has been almost totally ignored, he might have reason to not venture too far from the cities. Andy's armies would have a rough time out here should push come to shove.

    Very well put.

I am getting good at that ignoring thing.

Many of us are tied to a specific area by job or family; call it "voluntary servitude".

But, I still don't understand why so many NYS residents voted to put the Arkansas Carpet Bagger in the US Senate.

Like Cuomo, you can thank NY City sewer dwellers for that. [:(!]

There is an ad on TV about moving your business to NY and no taxes for 10 years. What they don't say is welcome to the Peoples Republic of NY, leave your 2nd amendment rights at the state line.
I would LOVE to see a popular movement to divorce themselves from those big dirty cities and out of touch leaders like they have now. That would have them weedeling in their panties.
It will all be meaningless when the last english speaking working tax payer leaves a state that has sanctuary cities. Pull all fed funding from any state that has said cities, not just the cities but from the whole state, and imprison all law makers that back that crap.
Too many Americans have been killed or worse by that scum and their protectors.

The disease is similar to what most states have: A large metropolitan area that wields the political power, thus implementing laws and election results for only a small percentage of the geographical area of the state. New York differs only in the severity and magnitude of the rules. New York has New York City; but Illinois has Chicago, Colorado has Denver (and Boulder); California has LA & SF metro areas; Oregon has Portland, Washington has Seattle, and on and on.

There seems to be a realization on the part of the politicians that they are quite vulnerable- why else do you suppose they want to disarm anyone that has the slightest difference of viewpoint or opinion?

    This is New York State:

The rural population are hard working, middle income property owners. We own the land, earn the money and pay the taxes. Our percentage of the population is far below 50%.

The citidiots outnumber us, don't own the land, and don't pay property taxes. They spend our tax dollars and vote away our rights. Many, many people on Welfare, and lots of government employees to cater to them.

New York has tremendous manufacturing. BUT, it's getting hard to find people that want to work, then will pay the taxes, and then submit to the government.

We are swirling around the bowl, one whoosh and the likes of Spider, Guntech, Nord, Woodshed myself will be gone.

There a lot of welfare and "disability" up around here, too.

I flushed the state of New York back in 1996 and have not regretted a minute of it. Moved to the tax free, gun loving state of Florida. More bikini babes per mile than any other eastern state. [:D]

Most of my extended family members were business types that grew up in rural NE states, NY, CT, and MA. All fled to TX and FL many years ago as state and local taxes consumed most of their earnings. All have prospered since.

I have been to or stayed in many large cities for short periods of time controlled by Democrat supermajorities to see the damage inflicted both economically as well as culturally.

Most of the successful business people flee to the suburbs and beyond taking jobs as well as wealth with them. What remains in the metro area can be described as a crime ridden, welfare abyss that eventually will self destruct.

I will never understand why these city people continue to vote for socialist party candidates who keep them in abject poverty and despair.

Politically, the cities are the major problem.

Rural NY is bad economically, as well. Manufacturing is moving south and the former employees are leeching off the system. You would not believe (or perhaps you would) the amount of welfare dependent folks up here.

I just traveled through your state last week, some may have seen the photo I posted going across lake Champlain on a ferry.

I got pulled over by the NY states for bad running lights. In my door panel was a fully loaded 40 cal. Glock with 2 high cap mags. [8D]. He was nice and just asked me to run with my 4 ways on until I was able to get to my exit.

Nope, he had no reason to search my car. If he would have he would of also found my .270 and my 12 gauge.

Might be easier on the eyes than some of these chunky native chicks, but the worst are snowbirds. You ain't seen nothing till you've saw a pale white 250 lb avalanche of flesh in a string. (at least you hope it's wearing a string)

GuvamintCheese, glad you put one over on King Cuomo's personal army.(NYSP)If the local sheriff had seen anything he probably would have waved you on. Came here in the Army in 1961 and until King Cuomo's election was very happy.Andrew Cuomo is the most despised governor in the country and won with the smallest number of votes.I can't wait untill NEW YORK STATE is in my rear view mirrow for the last time.Folks in Upstate and Western New York can't take anymore of his BS.People Downstate don't have a clue.Until my last day in this Socialist State I will use every ounce of energy left in my body to REPEAL THE NEW YORK SAFE(UNSAFE)ACT OF 2013.Someday, Andrew Cuomo's lawlessness will come back and bite him.We won't comply.BTW,HOT OFF THE PRESS! Cuomo just passed $15 minimun wage.No jobs and now we won't be able to afford to eat at a fast food joint.Shucks Andrew, think you should pat yourself on your back again.

Nord and others I am well aware of the difference between up state and da city but you are under the impression the Titanic is unsinkable.
It is not and at some point you will drown.

the Jewish comparison was general as many Jews came to the US and other countries but the point is some saw the reality and got out while it was popular to believe this danger would pass and things would get better.

NY getting better for gun owners is about as good as it was for Jews in Germany.

The main difference is you are welcome in those many pro-gun states where your presence strengthens the 2A as compared to being underground at best in NY

Your state ist gesunken, kaput, finished, wake up and smell the coffee and join those who want you.
You will not take back NY.
Stop the delusion and pack your bags

We need gun owners concentrated to insure the rest of the states do not fall like NY and other states, otherwise we are all kaput

Easy to say...not so easy to do.

I am 55 and only a few years away from retiring a second time, for good. I can't just up and leave.

I know (and knew) that I should have stayed in Georgia in 1998.

GT59 that is understandable but have you bought property in GA yet?
It should be your highest priority (after health)

I understand people can't just run to their car and flee but even on the Titanic there was time to take stock and retrieve what was important.

New York is the Titanic for gun owners and in fact anyone not part of the sheep or elite. If you can't get out soon you should be planning your move to freedom
