would you believe me if i told you it is pure stupidity, laziness and wanting to be hip ?

i find it hard to believe there are so many idiots here who defend the use of improper English and poor spelling, i thought gun people were smarter than the average ghetto trash talk buttheads, but reading these replies prove me wrong and dang it anyhow i do not like being wrong.

    PURELY PATHETIC !!

yes you are, and thank you for admitting it.

And there you have it folks!!! This is the exact reason why we fail as a group, too many people feel the need to judge and look down upon those they deem a lessor person! Either you accept the fact that nobody is perfect, everybody has thier own personalities, differences including dialects or we as conservative gun owners will go down in history as the bunch of idiots who not only put thier own noose around rhier necks but pulled the damn trap lever as well! As why many conservatives take different paths! It's because we get tired of the perfect ones reminding us that we will never be thier equal. [:(!]

There is an ocean of difference between an ignorant mistake and an intentional or creative misuse of language.

It is pointless to correct the former, and brainless to not recognize the latter.

    Prolly gets a cracker.

    Prolly is a cracker.

and there YOU go,......slingin racial slurs at poor Prolly. He can't help he was born white[;)]

I use prolly, fixin, pert-near, and multitudes of other terms that some here must find horribly offensive[:X] But as Barzilla has stated, I use them because I feel they can enhance a conversation, if/when used in the intended manner. I don't use them as a staple in my vocabulary, only when I WANT to use them for the effect.

I wonder if people who are so uptight about stuff like this die uptight and stressed.

Is life that shallow, to go go heaven worried about some guy on the interwebz who typed "prolly" vs. "probably"????

    I wonder...really.

edit...I suspect when they get to the Pearly Gates and get their number, they get put in the OCD line where everything has to be in it's exact spot or someone has a fit.

Not getting it is a bit different than being stressed about it, FCD.

Seems you have stressed about this more than have I, but the conversation remains amusing.

"prolly" must be a yankee term [:p] never heard it in Texas.

kinda like the young guys saying "shotty or remmy"

I'm afraid we're prolly going to be seeing this a lot more than we used to.

I'm accustomed to seeing the misspellings, use of the wrong words (i.e. "there" instead of "their"), use of apostrophes to pluralize words, etc.

..no big deal, I'm sure I make mistakes too, but I will say that sometimes it's so bad I have to skip the thread because I can't understand the poster's point.

ok, that's all...carry on. you prolly will anyway [;)]

I admit to being a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to the written word. I reckon that comes from nearly four decades of writing police reports.

When I first started participating in these forums, the grammar/spelling foibles of others bothered me some, but over the years I have learned to be tolerant. If I can understand it, that's good enough, but I have seen a few posts that I still don't understand, even after multiple readings.

Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Spelling is tough for some. It is easy for me, and I don't know why; it's just something that comes naturally to me. It always has been that way, and I claim no credit for it. Conversely, I try to be understanding of those who do not have this natural talent.

When it comes to spelling, I am happy for "Spell Check"[:D]
There are words it has problems with, so the dictionary is at hand.

Prolly seems to to morph easily too! For example: Talk about prolly! Or, Well, prolly that!
