Here are a few pics of my kids shooting the other day.

Zoie (13) is hitting 14" steel at 360 yards

JJ (6) is hitting 4" steel at 50 yards

The kid has never complained about cleaning guns.....unlike his sisters!

    Awesome
Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.

John, I had posted to this on facebook but want to share with all the guys on GunBroker.

Gentlemen, This is parenting done right[;)] These young kids are amazing in all their skills, from shooting to cleaning to safe gun handling. This is what we all have been teaching the next generation and these pictures are the perfect example. Great Job John and the Mrs. Oakie

I love it when I see kids learning safe firearm handling and shooting. My 11 yo son and I have been shooting every weekend for the past 3 years and I know it brings us closer together.

I don't let him clean the guns though. I'm too worried about the lead and chemicals and how they could affect him at such a young age.

Those are great pics, but they are missing only one thing. Eye protection. Unless they were just posing for the pics, and wanted their cute faces to be visible. [:)]

That is my baddest fault. I never wear eye protection unless I am shooting hand guns at a close distance. I know it is a big no no, but they really bother me to wear them. I don't wear them hunting, so i don't wear them shooting. Bad excuse. I got to change this bad habit.[;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)][;)]

Great pics... But I'd like to have seen eye protection along with the ear protection.
But that's your business, not mine.

That 14 inch target at 360 yards provides half the target as the 4 inch target at 50 yards.

So Zoie is hitting the equivalent of a 2 inch target at 50 yards... Nice shooting Zoie!
It's damn tough for this ol'guy to hit 2 inches at 50 yards... Even with a scope these days.

But, there once was a day, when squirrel eyes were the perfect size for a 22LR... with irons. [^]
    BTW... That's a 1/4 inch target at 50 feet...
Which would be equivalent to a 3/4 inch target at 50 yards and a 5 1/2 inch target at 360 yards.

Thanks for the concern with eye protection, and you guys are absolutely right. For what it's worth, right wrong or indifferent, I allow them to shoot without eye protection if they shooting behind a scope. The reason is, I want them to learn to shoot optics with a very clear eye. Glasses just seem to distort that clarity, no matter how good they are. Of course maybe it's just me, but then again, I learned to shoot long range in the Marine Corps without glasses. Either way, thanks for the input and kind words!

Yeah Airborne, that is a consistent problem with shooters who shoot here. It really pisses me off. Everyone I shoot with, including myself, is very cognizant about policing up after ourselves. Others just seem to not give a damn. One day they will close this place down then we'll all pay the price. PICK UP YOUR TRIGGER TRASH PEOPLE!!!!
