USC Sweeps UCLA for CWS Title

USC defeated UCLA two straight games to win the College World Series Baseball Championship after losing their opener to a tough Oklahoma squad. SC beat the Bruins 7-1 on Monday, and again 2-1 on Tuesday to win the title. The Bruins only needed one victory to snare the title, but it wasn't meant to be. The Gamecocks finished the season with a 54-16 record, while UCLA ended its season at 51-17.

    Winkler, 12-and-1 looked to be a formidable pitcher at Omaha, however, he just folded-up against UCLA the two games he started against them. Baffling, to say the least.
