Keep me and my grandpa in your prayers UPDATED

My grandpa lives on my parents' property as do I. My parents are in France for 2 weeks so I am on "night duty" in case he falls or needs help. Last night, he took a spill. He was able to scoot to his cell phone to call me. I was able to help him up and get him into bed. Now he's pretty sore and the pain has him feeling queezy like he's going to throw up.
Just keep him in your prayers that he'll be ok and me that I'll hear my phone if he calls.
ADDED: My aunt is going to take him to the doctor tomorrow. The VA is about 30 minutes away. For now, he's in bed.
UPDATE: My aunt took him to the doctor today. They're aren't sure what is causing the falling. They are keeping him overnight for tests. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Sounds like he might have a concussion. Did he hit his head? He may have broken something. Any thought to getting him to the hospital?
He tells us when its something serious. He had fallen on his right side recently. Last night, he fell on his left. So now he's sore all the way through.
I'm checking on him every hour. What other signs do I look for if he DOES have a concussion?
I hope everything turns out well for your grandpa and you.

Confusion
Vision difficulties (seeing stars or in a fog)
Vomiting
Pupil dilatation, or unequal dilatation
Ringing in the ears
Slurred speech
Sensitivity to light
Unusual tiredness
...are among some of the symptoms
Thanks. I'll keep a lookout for those. He hasn't thrown up yet. I just got him some cereal to steady his stomach. He was able to tell me right where the bowls, cereal, and sugar were and he was able to make a decision between Cheerios and Raisin Brand so I think he's doing good.
FCD, that's good information on the symptoms, but I have all but two of them on a good day. [:D]

Keep in mind that elderly people can break bones quite easily.
Ribs come to mind since he fell on his side, but his hip is a possibility as well.
You would figure he would know if he broke something, but some people have very high pain tolerance.
If he starts having ANY trouble breathing, or gets swelling/puffiness in the pelvic area,.......head to the ER, or call 911.
He probably knows how bad he's hurt and it sounds like he has sense enough to let you know if he thinks it's serious. It takes old folks longer to recover.
I hope everything turns out well for your grandpa and you.
Same here Cameron...
How often has he fallen... Has this started just recently... ?
Your Grandpa and you will be in our thoughts and prayers...

He used to fall quite a bit then he had a 5 way bypass and was doing better. He has started falling again. It is more about strength now. He can't carry a plate and use a walker. I got him one with a chair so he can put the plate on it or sit down.
