What's Your Favorite Store Bought Barbeque Sauce?

Summer is grilling time! My favorite is Bulls-Eye original flavor. It is getting harder to find theses days with the massive choices on the shelves' at the local grocers! What do you all like in a BBQ sauce?

Growing up, it was a real treat to go to Chris and Pitts for a little barbeque.

Over time, their sauce began appearing in stores, and became the House Standard BBQ sauce.

I haven't used BBQ sauce for years, but would look for Chris and Pitts if I was going to buy some.

Totally depends on the product being served. I am partial to Carolina Mustard on pulled pork something like Slap or Sticky Fingers... If we are doing roasted whole pig we baste with an eastern NC marinade that is mostly vinegar, salt and red pepper flakes. That pig needs no sauce.

Pork Ribs, Dreamland all day. (Get the BBQ salad there the dressing is half ranch half BBQ sauce.!!!! yummm.)

For brisket and beef ribs I like an east Texas style like from Bodacious BBQ in the Marshall, Longview area.

Head Country--not sugary like Sweet Baby Ray's, but sweet enough, I sdd a bit of tabasco sauce to give it a little zip. Wife and Grandkids don't like it too hot.

I agree with you in principle, but I like it sloppy. I was going to say sloppy and red, but I know where that would go.

Maull's Kansas city style BBQ sauce. i guess its just sold in the midwest, not available here, following that either of Famous Dave's. i don't care for a lot of brown sugar sauces like Sweet Baby Rays.

I got three kinds of Stubb's in the refrigerator. Original, Hickory Bourbon, and Smokey Mesquite. Of course there is always a KC Masterpiece way in the back of the bottom shelf, and Sweet Baby Ray doesn't dare to show his face around here.

Most all of the store bought stuff is way too thick and too sweet for me, but I still use it!!!!! [:D] Really though I like it red, thin, a tad sweet, and HOT...a little bit or a lot will do, but it has to have some heat!
    What's next?

OH! Does this bring back fond memories!

My father knew Chris Palonis and, living in L.A. there were several of the restaurants in town. We went there often.

I bought the sauce for years, but I don't think they make it anymore. Have not seen it in stores for years. :(

To add: I like Sweet Ray's too. I'll often add a little Chinese chile sauce to it for heat.

yep, that's what I used to do when on the hot sauce kick, mix in Tabasco Habanero with the bbq sauce.

None of them, most are way too sweet for me, and Sweet Baby Ray's tops the list of way too sweet. I buy a locally made sauce at the restaurant. Powdrell's 'in the black tradition.'

I also like a good mustard sauce, but have not found a good one since Honey Bear's in Phoenix sold and changed an excellent sauce.
