On an unrelated note, I saw your Bushmaster ACR auction. Did you get it from distributor? If so how hard are they to get, long wait?

That was part of a local retailer's overstocked items. I think that was the last they had of them. I haven't ordered from any distributors in a very long time myself. I don't have any idea what the wholesale market is like right now for anything???

every time I see an old SAA and how much money people pay for them I almost get sick because of one I sold for my pawn broker partner when I first started.
It was a first gen in easy 95% condition, all original with bright case colors and perfect grips the gun was early smokeless pre war.
It had a 4 3/4 inch barrel. The only thing wrong with it was the caliber 32-20 but I wasn't even aware of that then.
I ran it over and over with a 5k reserve and it rarely bid above 11-12 hundred. A guy called and offered 1700 for the gun so I told Butch and he accepted the offer. I set it up so the guy could win it.
Afterward he wrote me laughing about what a dumb * I was to sell that gun so cheap and since then, I realize how right he was.
He told me he would have offered more but he thought the gun was too good to be true and I was a new seller with few feedbacks.
It helps to have a long record with GB...
When I told Butch the guy laughed he said so did I , I got the gun for 50 bucks back in '73

Old-Colts nailed this one. When I asked him last week what it should go for, he told me $2500.00 to 3500.00 range, so call it $3000.00. Credit the $23.00 and change to shipping. I reckon that's pretty good, but after all, he is a Texan.
    What's next?

However, if it was on a table at a gun show and being offered by a reputable dealer in Single Actions; I suspect they would have $2500 - $2850 on it and be willing to deal.

However, since this is LF's auction; it's anybody's guess where it will end up. I suspect someone will overpay!!!!!!!!!!And, they did!

If you can't feel the music; it's only pink noise!

But it's a genuine "Kasey Colt" and that's worth a few bucks more. [:D]

I think the new owner will LOVE it!!! I get so excited for people that are getting cool new things. Since I can't keep them all I have to "live vicariously" through the people that get things like this.

what did the owner expect/hope to get? thats the only number that counts.
    I would not have paid that much for it so;
When I see auctions like this I am tempted to list for a penny with no reserve but I get it broke off every time I try it.
600 bucks for a new cased model 27 35th anniversary edition after it bid to over 900 when I had a reserve...errg.

I would guess the former owner is VERY pleased with the outcome.
I knew this would go high because of the nature of an action and Kasey's great presentations. the colt letter was a great touch!!
there are colt colt "collectors" that thing a letter is the holy grail, and ANY gun with one is desirable.
now, don't get me wrong. i liked that gun a lot. If i saw it at a show and had the $$, i would slap $2200 cash on the table and said "that's the best i can do".
and i would have walked away if they said no.
i knew it would be near, or above $3K here, and that's why i didn't bid. plus, i knew the cylinder rod.[;)]
    just my 2c

Just got back home from my "rounds" and guess what I picked up!!!????

Ummmm....if you are guessing three Colt SAA you are correct!!!

I will work on getting these on line asap. Right now I have to get some "catching up" done on some things that have been sitting here for a little while longer than they should.

One Bisley that is a parts gun, two VERY EARLY SAA 45lc coming soon!!!
