General Headquarters United States Army Forces Pacific...14 July 1945...
...Texas
Dear Mrs. Bostick,
Permit me to extend to you my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your son, Private James Franklin Bostick, 19th Air Base Squadron, who died on 30th of August, 1942, Anything I can say is scant consolation to you in your grief...
It is my fervent hope that later, the knowledge that his courage and sacrifices contributed to the final victory may be of sustaining comfort to you...
(signed) F.N Crandall, Major, AGD.
A few years later, when I was about three or fours years old...I attended my uncle's funeral services in East Texas...he finally came home.
All four of James' grand or great grandfathers were Confederate soldiers...lest we forget how he and his ancestors and their monuments are being treated by so called Americans...today.
To the memory of:
James Franklin Bostick

I am glad he is home and is resting in Peace, he damn sure didn't get any as a POW with the japs.
May it not be in vain.
My uncle, Darrel Lewis, from St. Paul Minnesota, was in the Army and was killed during the invasion of Leyte in the Phillippines in December 1944. His grave is now in St. Paul and I am going up there next year to visit that grave.
Rest in Peace, Uncle Buddy.
Rest in Peace, Pvt. James Bostick.

He would be very proud of his namesake.
First, eternal rest and peace to Private James Franklin Bostick and the others who were with him there in that hell.
Second, thank you for posting this. Our families past / history is a wonderful thing to have to pass on to the next generation or share with us here. Thanks again.
