I saw this coming.

Stone Mountain has been a symbol of the KKK in the past and I predicted it would get the treatment too.

This nonsense has got to stop. I am not sure what I can do but I am going to write all my representatives and tell them if they bow to these libtards I am going to look else where when its time to vote.

The story:
http://politics.blog.ajc.com/2017/08/15/abrams-calls-for-removal-of-confederate-faces-off-stone-mountain/

C&P
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams called for the removal of the giant carving that depicts three Confederate war leaders on the face of state-owned Stone Mountain, saying it ?remains a blight on our state and should be removed.?

?We must never celebrate those who defended slavery and tried to destroy the union,? Abrams said in a series of tweets posted early Tuesday, a response to the deadly violence sparked by white supremacist groups in Charlottesville, Va.

Removing the faces of Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson would take a monster of a sandblaster and require a change in state law. The Georgia code has a clear mandate for the memorial, saying it should be ?preserved and protected for all time as a tribute to the bravery and heroism of the citizens of this state who suffered and died in their cause.?

Lawmakers and civil rights groups have called for the removal of Confederate symbols at the memorial for years. After the 2015 shooting deaths of nine black worshipers by a white supremacist in Charleston, several legislators pushed for a boycott until Rebel flags at the site come down.

Georgia leaders have embraced recent changes to distance the state from its Rebel history.

The fricking GA Gov has already caved to these scumbags. He has taken down CSA statues and put up MLK garbage. bleen MLK jr.

The thing these politicians don't realize is you have to deal with these POS like you deal with terrorists.......you don't deal with them at all.

They are terrorists, no different than any other.

maybe not but I will get extreme satisfaction out of it when the "conservatives" who today side with the libs against our southern heritage and symbols go after theirs. (Washington, Jefferson, etc.)

I'm too broken down to fight anywhere but the ballet box and we don't usually have a choice there. it's always a choice of the lesser of 2 evils, and that ain't much of a choice as we all SHOULD know by now.

like it's been said - you can't fix...................

and we are surrounded by stupid MO-FO's

and go along to get along conservatives are at the head of that bowel "movement"

These spineless yellow bellied cowards/politicians, heck and the police too now are the epitome of the libtards. If our founding fathers were even 1% of this scum this country wouldn't exist.
Come to think of if this country isn't going to exist much longer.
The majority now are nothing short of savages and barbarians and that's being praised as wonderful behavior.
Then you have the media taking everything out of context and pumping racism/the sheeple full of steroids every chance they get. But that's another story.[xx(]

The fascist left is currently succeeding in demonizing everyone who participated in the 1861 War for Southern Independence. A memorial to the common Confederate Soldier was torn down, and this criminal act was celebrated by many who champion themselves as the standard bearers of tolerance.

As we fast forward 50 years, the Vietnam War Memorial is in jeopardy, as are any remembrances of those that fought and died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is now a given that there was nothing noble about the thirst for Independence. It is now a given that there was nothing but evil intent in the hearts, minds, and actions of those that perpetrated the secession from the Union and those that fought to thwart the forced reconstitution of that Union.

In 1865, the ideal of government by, for, and of the people died on this Continent.

In 2017, the idea that history has nuance has died.

In 2017 the idea that any objection to whatever the new normal may be must be evil has taken root. It is a shame that damn few public figures have the moral courage to take a stand against this dictate from the Ministry of Truth. These same people, who also occupy the Ministries of Peace and of Love, give cover to violence enacted by those that agree with their Truth, and ignore actual truth as evidenced by the reaction to Charlottesville and to the very reasonable comments by our President this past Tuesday.

As stated before, we are truly entering a dark era in our development. An era where facts are unimportant so long as the agenda is correct. An era where nuance does not exist and unless one's approach is all or nothing, it is tacit acceptance of that which is unacceptable.

This mindset is a fundamental change to our society. Actual thought is no longer acceptable. Reasoned discussion is no longer acceptable. This affects not only politicians; rather it permeates all levels of society to include the obvious such as entertainers and professional athletes, but also businesses from multi-nationals to local mom and pop enterprises.

All can be attacked in the anti-social media, and people can and will lose their livelihood if they do not toe the fascist left's party line. It is a coordinated and deliberate effort to silence independent thought and free expression of same.

We have had darker times in our history to be sure, but not many.
Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.

    you bet

when our Muslim population grows they can deface the gulf war memorials, and do away with the twin tower memorial because it is a offensive reminder

So Washington D.C. will just be known as DC. And Washington State will be know as State formally known as Washington [:D]?

Also how are the Brits dealing with their slave owning forefathers? Is that country now statue less?

Miracle! A famous black lib who doesn't want Confederate memorials destroyed:

Andrew Young opposes fight over Confederate statues

    Leon Stafford The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
    1:33 p.m Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 Atlanta News

Civil rights icon and former Atlanta mayor Andrew Young said Wednesday he doesn?t back the fight to tear down Confederate memorials around the country and that he fears it could have unintended consequences.

?I think it?s too costly to refight the War of Northern Aggression ,? Young said Wednesday at a press conference in which he and fellow civil rights icon C.T. Vivian endorsed Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell to succeed Kasim Reed as the city?s next mayor. ?We have paid too great a price in trying to bring people together.?

?I?ve always been interested more in substance over symbols,? Young said Aug. 16, 2017, when asked for his opinion on removing Confederate memorials around the nation.
Young?s comments came just days after a woman was struck and killed and at least 19 others were wounded in Charlottesville, Va., when a car plowed into a group of demonstrators who were protesting neo-Nazis, KKK members and white nationalists who had descended on the city because of plans to dismantle Confederate statues.

President Donald Trump sent what many consider mixed messages to the nation in reaction to the violence, saying on Tuesday that ?alt-left? demonstrators shared some blame for the confrontations after a day earlier saying racism had no place in the nation.

Young said the fight in the early 2000s to replace the Confederate battle emblem on the Georgia flag hurt the state and Atlanta because the Democrats lost the governor?s mansion. If Georgia had not been embroiled in the battle, it might have salvaged the deal to bring a Mercedes-Benz plant to southern Georgia and an accompanying 3,000 jobs and that Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act might have expanded in the state.

?I?ve always been interested more in substance over symbols,? Young said, calling the fight over the flag a mistake.

?If the truth be known, we?ve had as much agony but also glory under the United States flag,? he said. ?That flew over segregated America, it flew over slavery.?

Young also said he thinks James Alex Fields, the driver alleged to have been behind the wheel in the fatal death of Heather Heyer in the Charlottesville melee, is probably suffering from some type of mental illness and needs professional care.

?That?s not normal behavior,? he said of Fields. ?That?s not militant behavior. That?s not patriotic behavior. That?s sick behavior.?

Every one of these "events" that come and go with the liberal left-wing idiots getting away with violence, vandalism, looting, etc. only emboldens them even further. As such, their behavior will only continue to escalate in scale and severity. Regardless of what the State of GA says, it's probably only a matter of time until some self-proclaimed "freedom-fighter" rappels down the side of the cliff face with some explosives. [:(!]

there does not seem to be an end in sight to the revisionist history movement .Seems to me if these folks put as half as much effort into fighting poverty ,child abuse ,drug addiction and the lack of employment in black area as they do in protesting what a difference it would make in the world .Course we know this is not going to happen
