I won a slow cooker

I've mentioned on here a time or two how the wife goes nuts over door prizes or just about any kind of giveaway. If any business or organization has an open house or some kind of promotion, she's going to be there. She almost takes it to the point of insanity. The really strange thing is more times than not she wins the door prize. She likes to drag me along to as many as she can. I usually find a way to get out of it.

Yesterday Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative had our annual meeting to reelect the board of directors. The meeting is required by law, and there has to be a certain number of members present to have a forum to be legal. The only way they can get anybody to come is to have a free meal and door prizes.

Since my name is on the bill, I'm eligible for the door prize and she isn't so I had to go with her.

This is what I won. A Hamilton Beach 5 Quart programmable slow cooker. I have mixed feelings about it. I love to see how happy it makes her to win stuff, but every time she wins it just encourages her to go to the next one.
