    Could be the technology older 802.11A and B series were pretty power limited. G is much better and the N standard is supposed to be the cat's *. (Won't find out till my G one dies though) My router is in the basement and I get signal fine on the far end of the second story.

    I have a Linksys the "medium range" model.
    Works fine covering a 2,500 sq ft 2 story.
    I can see my neighbors signal from 100' away too.

    This is the 802.11g
    Its not my house guys. If it was there would not be a problem. I would CAT5 the whole house! At work I ran 300 feet if CAT and every one told me it wouldn't work but it did. They also told me I couldn't run 3 computers off it but I made one trip to Best Buy and did. [:D]
