One of those gun jobs I hate

I love my Marlin 60. It was my first gun, and generally speaking, is a reliable tackdriver. I have 2 beefs about it though.
1. Takedown is a pain. I get about 300-400 rounds before it starts jamming and requires disassembly and thorough cleaning.
2. Every 2-3000 rounds the feed throat (pot metal) and ejector lifter spring require replacement. Which is irritating enough, but to add insult to injury, disassembling the guts of a Marlin 60 is second in irritation only to taking apart my Ruger Mk 2.
Why is an otherwise good design put together with such junky parts? The barrel must be top notch, it outshoots my Ruger 10/22 without issue, just the guts of it are bad.
