Looks like RN's report is correct. Reports are on front page of foxnews and Drudge Report

Below is cut and paste from Fox News

U.S. officials told Fox News that the substance had tested positive for ricin (search) in an initial field test. However, U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman Sgt. Contricia Ford would not confirm that finding, saying only that more tests would be needed.

"Preliminary tests show [the powder] tested positive for a hazardous substance," Ford said in press conference Monday evening.

The Homeland Security Department (search) was monitoring the situation, spokesman Brian Roehrkasse said.

One source close to the investigation told Fox News that field tests don't definitively determine what the substance is, only what it could turn out to be. Further tests on the substance were being conducted at Fort Detrick in Maryland, with results expected by Tuesday.

The substance was found shortly after 3 p.m. in the Dirksen Senate Office Building (search), reportedly in the office of Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn. Staffers were told to evacuate their offices shortly after the discovery.

Ford would not say if anyone who had been in the building was receiving medical treatment.

The powder was found in an envelope in Frist's office suite on the fourth floor of the Dirksen building, one of three structures occupied by senators and their staffs, said a congressional source speaking on condition of anonymity.

Ricin is a highly poisonous substance derived from castor beans. Easy to make, it can cause death 36 to 72 hours after ingestion, inhalation or injection.

Police found traces of ricin in a north London apartment last January and arrested seven men of North African origin in connection with the virulent toxin that has been linked to Al Qaeda (search) terrorists and Iraq.

A package containing ricin was also found at a post facility serving Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in South Carolina in October.

I heard the same report on CBS radio news at 9pm. Preliminary tests for ricin showed up positive. However, the test kit for ricin can sometimes yield an incorrect positive result. I heard that the actual substance is being sent to Fort Detrich, MD (SP?) for conclusive testing.
