Have you spent any time with those firing simulator things the Army's using these days?

I'm talking about the deal with the big projector screen and the different scenarios you can pick on a computer.

We just spent a couple of hours on one. They had it set up with 5 lanes for pneumatically-operated M4s to do ambush simulations and whatnot, but we got bored about halfway through and started doing the scenarios they had for the MPs.

It was pretty hysterical. You can tell the scenario's designed for one guy with a holstered Beretta quick-drawing and firing two shots on center mass. They have the big elaborate set up with the shady guy about to rob the PX, or the drunken soldier on a traffic stop. We just waited until the guy made like he was moving for a weapon, then we lit him up on burst.

Record so far: 26 lethal and 13 non-lethal hits on one guy.

Infantry leads the way! [:D]

0311marine--I appreciate the offer. However, regulation prohibits me from distributing ASVAB study guides since they are not official military publications. The military doesn't want to have some kid come back and blame a book that the recruiter gave him for his low test score. It's screwed up but you KNOW someone did it in order for that regulation to exist. I have an idea. Save the postage and drop it off at a high school library. I back-door the regulation buy buying a few of those books for my big high school in my area. I use clear masking tape and affix one of my business cards to the inside of the front cover. If the kid checks it out then it is his choice and not actually a recommendation from me.

I do appreciate the thought though! [^]
