We need to know where the "other side" stands. I recommend watching the movie. It is what we will be up against in the next year as far as gun rights are concerned. Go to this URL and watch the short movie.. Hollywood style attack on the Second Amendment

Nice movie. Wonder what the girl pics have to do with violence and guns? Shoot, girls with guns have more fun. I too, want one of those cheap AK's.

Appears to me they need to protest the sweat shops in Korea and China for mak'n those high priced sneakers at the expense of the poor old orientals making ten cents an hour if that.

What we need to do is call all our congressional representatives and show our support to kill any future assault weapons ban. Sitting around poking fun at the opposition does nothing. If we act, we can prevent this. C'mon people!

Dahhhhhh, ya mean da Tech-9 aint used fer deer huntin?

The scarey part to the movie is that a large group of gun owners and hunters agree with these idiots.

Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

Does this mean we're pretty much screwed? Is it practically certain that a stiffer assault weapon ban is going to be passed in the near future?

I saw the new Beretta Storm in there. Thats not an assualt rifle![:)] I could use a Tec 9 to kill a deer. It wouldnt be legal but i still could.

Problem is that those of weak minds believe this crap. We must all continue to get our message to our political delegations... We either speak up, or "they" will speak for us!

    Roboman:

quote:Is it practically certain that a stiffer assault weapon ban is going to be passed in the near future?

Take a good, hard look at the typical "assault weapon"
and think of how you would respond to a stranger unfamiliar
    with firearms:

"Why do you need 30 shots for hunting?"
"When/where will you use such a piece in a formal competition?"
"For what purpose do you need a 10 rnd magazine, let alone a 30 or 75?"

When you can answer these questions without resorting to such
    phrases as:
    "The Second Amendment says so..."
    or
"Because it is just another step toward total confiscation.."

There may be a glimmer of hope on the horizon.
At this point, things do not appear very promising.

quote:]"Why do you need 30 shots for hunting?"
You don't, unless you are either a really bad shot or the one being hunted. Obviously, such a weapon is not a hunting gun but more suited to competition, plinking or homeland defense.

quote:"When/where will you use such a piece in a formal competition?"
There are competitions for such a piece every weekend, look for "action" rifle matches.

quote:"For what purpose do you need a 10 rnd magazine, let alone a 30 or 75?"

Go back to the first answer!

I guess if much stronger legislation is coming down the pipe, I should stock up on as many of these "evil" assault weapons as I can.

Hunting ? Sorry, Faldum...hunting doesn't enter into the discussion at any level.
Either one has the conjones to stand and say.." My guns are to oppose opression..thus the Second Amendment"..or one doesn't.

The folks out there too gutless to make that statement..I feel sorry for them..because they will never really know what it is to be an American.

The right to keep and bare arms wasn't meant that guns were just for hunting. Guns were to protect the people against tyranny and their families and homes. Their all ignorant!

GEE, I guess my Uzi, Tec9, AR, M1A and SAR are going up in price. What a shame. I'll just have to learn to live with it. Like when my Polytech folder with drum went to 1400. Ah well. Life is tough. [:D][:D] [8D]

    Roboman:

The guns will no doubt be illegal
    across the board.
This is simply beacuse the ever so clever
folks who merchandise the current "assault
weapons" have literally (and rather sucessfully, I might add)
danced around the minutiae of the original legislation.
It is doubtful a "grandfather" provision
will be an option next time.
"Stock-up" now and you will simply have
    contraband.

You will then be able to:

    1) Sleep peacefully with your
    beloved "protection"
    or
    2) Sleep restlessly, awaiting the
    dreaded "Knock" on the door.

    Your call.

Faldum, I agree with you about the telemarketers [;)]. However, I really hope they don't outlaw all assault weapons. At the very VERY least they could use the grandfather clause of pre-bans once again. If they plan on doing this, I am sure to stock up on as many as I can. I can always sell them later, as a way of "scalping" guns if you will.

    William81:

My brother and I purchased two
rather innocuous compounds from the local
drugstore and mixed it with some charcoal
    from the barbeque grill.
We then found a short length of iron pipe
with a cap on one end.
A small hole drilled in the "breech" end and some
    firecracker wick completed our "toy."

    I worked rather nicely.

We were about 10 years old at the time.

In spite of the fancy blue lettering,Faldum, you have a point.

Thusly you can perhaps now understand why I advocate the total withdrawal of good men from the debate..so the Socialists feel safe in totally banning guns.

I too have been herded into the same trap as the stupid..obeying the gun laws. However, unlike the stupid, I see the executioner standing on the platform just down the line..and I also see the bodies of 200 million people murdered by governments in the last 100 years.

I am not stupid enough to believe this fedgov is so benevelant as to not do the same, sometime in the next 100 years...

    I had a super tricked-out SKS for a while.
Had an absolute ball stirring up dust at the range.
Such a crude, yet incredibly efficient design...
The thing just would not jam!!!!
It looked absolutely sinister decked out with a new stock,
    scope, flash-hider and almost every after-market add-on
    you could imagine.
I actually regret selling the thing.

There will always be a buyer for your guns.

I hope you will never find yourself in a position of financial
hardship when the time comes to move along to something
    different.

    Good Luck.
