Trying to find places to shop, post and read here. Please include things like Customer Service, Prices, Selection, Do they meet prices, Trade-ins, Consignments, and stuff like that.

The following shops are in or around the Beaumont, TX area.

10-32Supply Downtown Beaumont off Neches St.

The Best Customer Service
Good Prices
Small Selection, but growing
Does meet or beat prices.
Great place for trade-ins, or consignment sales.
This guy wants your business and will take care of you.
This is my number one dealer and friend.

Shooter's Supply near Parkdale Mall in Beaumont

Horrible Customer Service
Excellent Selection
Normal Expected Prices
Does meet prices
Bad place for trade-ins, or consignment sales.
They really don't care about your business, they get plenty without you.

Garry's Guns in Vidor Texas

The Best Cusomter Service
Excellent Selection
Mixed Prices
Don't know if they meet prices
Don't know about trade-ins or consignments.
These are great people, they will take care of you.

J&J Pawn on College St. in Beaumont

Excellent Customer Service
Good Selection (Excellent selection of ammos, seems to have even rare, and obsolete hard to find cartridges)
High, but negotiable prices, specially for NRA members
Don't know if they meet prices, probably
Of coarse they do trade-ins and consignments, its a pawn shop
This guy is great, will take care of you, wants your business, helping the gun community to grow is pretty important to him.

In Springfield, MO. Gunslinger, on Sunshine St. or Gunsmoke, on Chestnut Expway. Good selections, knowledgable people.

In Miller Mo. Hackworth's guns on Hwy 96 between Miller and Halltown, Hunt's hardware and Cooper's Guns, downtown Miller(all one block of it!)
Same as above, sometimes better prices and easier to trade with.

None are REALLY close anymore, but...

The Gun Shop in Parma, OH, generally has a good selection of vintage military rifles and pistols, as well as O/U and S/S shotguns. He also has a gun selection of reloading powders, but not supplies, and runs a bit steep on some stuff. Real freindly guys though.

B&J shooting supplies, also in Parma, only carries new stuff. IF you want a new rifle or pistol, they are great, but they are very overpriced. They also have some reloading stuff, and aren't too helpful.

The Gun Shop in Parma Heights, OH (not to be comfused with the store of the same name down the street) specializes in antique double barrel shotguns and not much else.

Atlantic Gun and Tackle in Brecksville and Bedford are the two biggest stores around. They have some used stuff, but an excellant selection of new rifles and pistols. They also carry a full line of reloading presses, dies, brass, bullets, and powder, and have a good selection of fishing stuff, but are a little pricey.

Antolik Arms on Broadway has zip. Three guns on hand but will order most anything.

Royal Ridge shooter's supply has a medium inventory of new and used guns, excellant prices, and are very freindly. They don't have much ammo though.

Near our cottage at Port Clinton, OH:
Mid county firearms has a great selection of the most obscure types of ammo, full line of reloading stuffs, but only a few firearms. HOwever, the owner is a master gunsmith and former director of CMP. His guns are expensive.

Rte. 4 shooter's supply has the area's largest selection of new and used guns, good prices, and full line of reloading gear and ammo. Nice place, freindly guy, also does gunsmithing.

There are more but i am sick of typing.

    Kansas City suburban area:

Bob's Gun rack: prices real high on everything, moody owner,
    good selection

Admire's : Poor selection, prices real high, good gunsmithing
    work, forget any "deals"

Both of the above are in Lee's Summit

    Crossfire: Independence

Heading down South, Lowry City Missouri

Larry Gates, Bears Den, not much selection on hand BUT, this is because he saves you money by ordering whatever you want. Low overhead, so, a Sig 229, if you don't use a credit card, is around $640 but up here $840. My Armalite AR-10A2 was $1290 out the door taxes and all! Even though its an hour and a half drive each way, he is a good guy, Vietnam Vet, and worth the effort. Always treats me right.

Fair selection, geared toward the reloader, prices on pistols
very high, good gunsmithing, good indoor range, good advice and help on shooting, reloading, and other questions.

In beautiful Union MO Danz Unique Gifts. For you men not blessed with firarm loving wives has a lovely doll, porcelain, potpourie, collectible store.

You need to walk past all that and angle to the right and oh my there it is, the gunstore. Bob "retired" and sold everything out 6-7 years ago. I think he has a bigger selection now than ever.

Not much on trades, OK selection, but prices are very fair. Bob himself is a hoot. Ask to see the autopsy of last year mule deer hunt. Compares the Barnes X-Bullet to some other brand. The photos were described to me as "grusome, but scientific".

D&D Outdor Sports nice folks. Smaller selection, little higher prices. Always good for conversation and cup of coffee.

For the best selection? Gary's Guns in Sioux Falls South Dakota. It's about 90 miles away but there's so much there--everything a shooter could want. It has to be the largest selection of new or used guns that I've ever seen in a gun store.

For the best prices at actual gun stores? Scheel's is the only store around here. The local police supply shop also sells guns and sometimes you can get some great beat-up pump shotguns dirt cheap out of the barrel next to the counter but their pistols are unreasonably expensive.

For gun conversation that is actually intelligent and informative? JudgeColt. I learn something new every time I visit him. That's a rare thing considering most of the gun store experiences that I've had.
