Hey...here's that great beat-to-death topic again. What's the appropriate ammo for barrel break-in? I'm looking for a factory load with jacketed bullets and nitro powder. I don't have a problem locating ammo with jacketed bullets but I'm not sure which company uses the most appropriate powder for the break-in job. Any suggestions?

If you are going to clean the bore between shots between each round for the first 20-30 rounds, the powder shouldn't matter. Anything by federal, my #1 choice for factory accuracy, remington, hornady and the like would be just fine. Just curious, if you are going to break it in to try and improve accuracy why don't you start reloading as well? You will be able to fine tune hand loads to best match your rifle/caliber selection and probably get tighter groups.

That is the problem. My current employer has me working about 80 hours a week. I have time to do very little in the line of hobbies. Right now there are other things that take priority over reloading. My employer also pays me rent and utilities. I am not authorized a 2 bedroom apartment so, right now, there is no room to reload.
