Is there anyway to purchase US military supplies (current issue) as a civilian? I mean directly from the military, not surplus stores. Thanks[This message has been edited by RPCIII (edited 09-23-2001).]

You could check with some of the major Army installations (Fort Benning, Fort Bragg, Fort Lewis). The Department of Reutilization and Management Office holds "DRMO" auctions and sells things in lots. Usually it's old and worn out. Many of your surplus stores get their gear there. Go to www.army.mil and find the list of installation web sites. Then go to one of the major installations (as listed above) and find their main switchboard number. Call it and ask for the phone number to their DRMO office. Call and ask if they hold DRMO auctions. That is the only way (as far as I know) that you can purchase military gear direct from the military. Okay, try this link: http://www.army.mil/installations/forts.htm [This message has been edited by idsman75 (edited 09-23-2001).]
