a guy at work had the new g&a mag. he let me see it. there is a artical on a rem. 700 vsl, in a 260. it was only shooting 1 inch groups and he wanted 1/4 inch or better. they ended up putting on a new barrel, anyway i don't recall what yardage, he was shooting, or even if it said. but i didn't have time to study it. do you guys know at what yardage they were shooting?

I haven't read G&A in quite awhile. The articles and "un-biased" reviews of certain products drove me away.

I'm with Evil on this one....I finally quit reading Guns and Ammo a couple of years ago as the gun reviews were little more that Rah-Rah sessions for whatever was being reviewed.

I get G and A for now but doubt I'll be renewing. They review an "average" 3-5000 dollar gun monthly, and throw in a "few" advertisements, Maybe do a nonce in a lifetime trip to the arctic circle to hunt muskox, you know trips the "average guy" will do 3 or 4 times in a life, not. I guess they don't like doing things like us. One of their writers used 3 or 4 guide services in the same yr to take a single blacktail buck. I hunt them and know it's difficult but they made it sound like they are sprites. If you like at least 50% of the pages to be advertisements, another 20% political bs, one affordable gun, and the rest for the wall street sporting clays crowd, go with G and A.

But then again I have yet to see a firearms mag that is much different except Gun Tests, and in the year I subscribed to that they did not test a single firearm I was interested in. At least Rifle and Rifle Shooter are about rifles, even if I can't afford those rifles, nor the places they go to shoot 'em. Probably why a lot of us hang here.

I moved and never bothered giving G&A my forwarding address. The only thing decent that came out of the advent of G&A, in my opinion, is the radio show "Gun Talk" with Mr. Gresham. Then again, I'm a talk radio junkie who SHOULD be attending meetings. The same goes for my affinity for firearms.
