Will anyone here be at the Des Moines, IA gun show? I will be wearing a black jacket with gold trim that says "ARMY" on the back with a white star on the front left breast. If you're there, say "howdy". Yes guys, I'll be wearing my red Doc Martin boots too.

The show is at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines from Sept 27 - 29. Sunday the 29th is the only day I have off so I'll be walking through the front door around 9am with a buddy of mine. If I remember correctly, it usually opens around 9am on Sunday.

Idsman, just got back from the Dakota's so I'll be there Sunday morning with my white Reebok's. I know they're not as classy as Doc Martins, it was all I could afford after the last few guns. Are red Doc Martins kinda like a "babe magnet"?.... If they are, Mrs Rembrandt probably won't allow me to wear any.....

I suppose it is time to explain the red boots. You see...I was a young PFC at Fort Lewis and met a real pretty girl who lived across the hall from me. I wanted her to like me very badly so I got my first tattoo when she got hers. Actually...she was pretty but she was the "bad girl" type which I liked after living in wholesome northwest Iowa for 18 months. As it turned out, she was out hunting for Doc Martins which are very cool in western Washington. I picked out an unusual color and she bought the tie-died ones. Yes, they actually make tie-died leather. The boots have been with me ever since. I've had em for five years now and they just feel right. It's hard to give up a pair of boots that just feel right and won't wear out no matter how hard you try.
