Alright you Hi-Power lovers dont track me down for this.I have decided to waite on a new Shotgun and now there is no 30-30 semi-auto so Im thinking of going another route on a new gun.My wife and I made a agreement that for the rest of the year I can get 2 guns and one she is getting me for Christmas so I have one gun to pick.I am finally considering a 9mm but I dont want to spend a fortune because it is just a cheap gun to shoot cheap ammo from.I have read an article on this gun and it looked good and accurate but whats the first hand?I have big hands and dont want that hammer biting on me.Is this pistol a bargain or is it just what you pay for?I am looking for the best cheapest 9mm out there is this what I need? Thanks again Fellas.

I have had one. Mine worked well and had no malfunctions. I did see a little tumbling with cheap ammo. After saying that, I still would suggest you spend a little more and get the real thing. I have heard from others about malfunctions (mainly failure to feed or extract correctly - stovepiping). If you only want this for a pinker and are not going to rely on this to save your life - go ahead.

One of the Browning clones is very good, but I always get confused as to which one. The rounded hammer shouldn't bite you, but the standard one may.

I owned one of these, the double action version(Iforget the number). It is all steel, very reliable, and would accept the Browning magazines. It was also over $100. than any other good 9mm. I shot it for awhile, and when I was ready to trade up I took it to a gun show and got back for it what I paid for it. I don't think you'd be disappointed by it. If you buy a used one though, expect to have to clean it up before shooting it. Lots of people buy them because they're attracted to the price, then trade them off without cleaning them (not me!).

I own a p9r and can shoot rings around my cousin and his browning Hi_ Power. Better shot you say, well yes but that still doesn't explain why he also shoots my gun better.

I used to own a FEG PJK-9HP. It was a great gun. It's not fancy and it isn't all that pretty but it shot VERY well and I experienced absolutely no malfunctions with it. However, the hammer DID bite me whenever I shot it even though the hammer was rounded. It wasn't painful but it was annoying so I sold it for the same price I paid for it. It seems that the prices on this pistol are going up. GUN TESTS magazine did a write-up on the Browning Hi-Power clones and gave them all BAD BAD BAD reviews. However, they didn't bother to review the FEG. My only gripe about the FEG is that the magazine safety mechanism makes the trigger pull feel a little gritty. If you don't mind 10-round magazines and don't have your heart set on hi-caps, buy the MEC-GAR magazines. Don't go to the range without one. The magazine that is shipped with the FEG PJK-9HP is CR*P!!! I made that mistake. I loaded it up and strapped it to my hip and drove to the range only to find out that I couldn't shoot it. It's a great plinker and probably even a great self-defense gun. I carried it several times and felt confident with it riding with me in my pickup. Buy new magazines and be wary of the hammer and you shouldn't have a problem. The guy I sold it to took it to a gunsmith and had a different hammer installed and it works great for him. It is well worth the money.
