Dear Friends:When our young people can write like this I believe our country will be in good hands in the future.Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord'sPrayer are not allowed in most public schoolsanymore, because the word "God" is mentioned....a kid in Arizona wrote theattached..........NEW School prayer. I liked it....Now I sit me down in school,Where praying is against the rule. For this great nation under GodFinds mention of Him very odd.If Scripture now the class recites,It violates the Bill of Rights. And anytime my head I bow,Becomes a Federal matter now.Our hair can be purple, orange or green,That's no offense; it's a freedom scene. The law is specific, the law is precise.Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice. For praying in a public hallMight offend someone with no faith at all.In silence alone we must meditate,God's name is prohibited by the state. We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks. They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote the Good Book makes me liable. We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King. It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong. We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong. We can get our condoms and birth controls,Study witchcraft, vampires, and totem poles,But the Ten Commandments are not allowed. No word of God must reach this crowd. It's scary here I must confess,When chaos reigns the school's a mess. So, Lord, this silent plea I make:Should I be shot; My soul please take!AmenIf you aren't ashamed to do this, please pass this on.Jesus said, " If you are ashamed of me," I will be ashamed of you before my Father."Not ashamed. Passing this on .

It's a shame that our citizen's, no matter the age, has to resort of sneeking around to pray....You used to here about such as this in other countries....But here it is and look at the mess we're in.....Not having prayer in schools is not working...Why not put in back, be it meditation or silently praying without involving anyone else...NO MATTER YOUR RELIGIOUS PREFERENCE...

You know what's funny? Here in NE Texas, prayer does exist in schools, at least some of them."Meet You at the Pole" is alive and well. Many football games are preceded by a prayer, as are graduation exercises, school board meetings, and PTO meetings.I guess we haven't got the message.

Every name in my address book will get a copy, I will even make copies, as I am sure my kids will be glad to hand out some at school. My oldest son will do it with the hopes that someone will protest, then he will get on his soapbox about his first ammendment rights, and when he gets going, LOOK OUT!! Sometimes, I think I have created a monster when it comes to being both vocal and active in standing up for his, or anybody elses, constitutional rights. Oh well, it is better to be a rebel with a cause than to be a silent, mindless sheeple being lead to the slaughter.

Nunn, they used to do that here..'Meet you at the pole'. They stopped it quiet a while back..My wife was leading prayer in her class, with the students that wanted to, with the door locked after they arrived...The Principle stopped that....Although they still have prayer before ball games....Don't know the difference tho...She changed schools and even the Principle and the Asst. Principle leads prayer before classes get started....But it is may perfectly clear that if your not comfortable, you don't have to participate...

There's no way the socialists and athiests can stop prayer anywhere let alone in school. There's no need to bow your head, no need to kneel. All you have to do is think your prayer and God will hear. How many students do you think murmer a silent prayer before a tough exam?

BadBoyBob, don't blame the Athiests! I am one, and I couldn't care less if people pray. Heck, I actually support it!! Just because I don't believe in God doesn't mean I think you shouldn't! I have always thought that despite the fact that I think God is fiction, the teachings of the Church (not the one Osama attends) are correct (as it pertains to one's moral character, honesty, etc.).I think that prayer in the schools is fine, just as long as they don't force kids to do it. I also think that the Pledge of Allegiance should be MANDATORY.

*Render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasars, and unto God that which is His! *Go unto thy closet and pray! You may pray anywhere and he will hear you- you don't need others for this, especially those who have made their ignorance their God! They will have their reward.

Wow, amazing! When I posted this after the Columbine shootings I was accused of being paranoid, a racist(?), a "holy roller trying to cram my religion down everyone's throat", and a general low-life S.O.B.Wow, amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our kids attend a Christian school. This is why they pray every morning, noon, and before coming home for the day. They also say the Pledge to both the American and the Christian flag every morning.I will have to check and see what they do at the public schools here.

Christian flag? There's a specific, seperate Christian flag? What does it look like? If I've ever seen one, I didn't realize what I was looking at.
I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.--Voltare~Secret Select Society Of Suave Stylish Smoking Jackets~

At our school (Lutheran) it is a white flag with a blue square in the corner with a red cross in the center of the box (instead of the stars).

Expression of one's religion in today's schools is okay so long as it is not "mainstream" (i.e. Christian). After visiting dozens of high schools in the last four months, it seems just fine for those that claim "pagan" beliefs to express their religion any way they choose. As long as it's liberal it's fine.
