for the courageous seven marines that most likely died today in their KC-130 refueler.Being an old Marine, it is like I lost seven brothers.CNN) -- U.S. officials said Wednesday there were no indications of survivors after a Marine Corps KC-130 transport plane crashed into a mountainside as it prepared to land at a forward operating base in western Pakistan. Seven Marines were on the refueling/cargo plane. Their names are being withheld pending notification of their next of kin, said Maj. Chris Hughes, a Marine Corps spokesman in Kandahar. There was no indication the plane came under enemy fire, the Pentagon said, but that has not been ruled out. Witnesses reported the plane appeared to be on fire when it crashed.

I may be a soldier and not a Marine but I have utmost respect for those that choose that path. Thoughts and prayers to the families left behind who will continue making an emotional sacrifice in the absence of those that made the ultimate sacrifice. It may not be my motto but it sure sounds appropriate at this time: Semper Fi!
