It is the biggest, best attended show in the state of Iowa. There have been a couple of other locations that claimed more tables, but they weren't as much gun oriented. They were more of a flea market with some guns. As for the show, it is January 25th, 26th, and 27th. The hours are Friday 5PM-9PM, Saturday 9AM-5PM, and Sunday 9AM-3PM.Usually you'll find the show to be very busy on Saturday, almost too busy. Sunday the crowds are lighter, but that may be different this year, no Super Bowl on the 27th this year. A few dealers won't be there until Saturday morning, but over 90-95% will be there as of opening on Friday as a rule.

I'll be there standing in line for the doors to open on Sunday morning (Brown leather jacket, Wetlands Advantage Ducks Unlimited baseball cap, blue jeans and red Doc Martin boots with yellow sole stitching -- don't laugh!)BTW: When do the doors open on Sunday?[This message has been edited by idsman75 (edited 01-22-2002).]

I know a lot of people gripe about gun show concessions. I went to the Outdoorsman's Boat/RV/Truck/ATV/Gun/Knife show in South Sioux City, NE this past weekend and scored two huge hot dogs, a bag of popcorn and a medium coke for about $5.50. I'd like to challenge anyone to find a better deal than that at their gun shows this year. The challenge has been put forth. I'm still working on the prize for the first one to get a better deal.

Idsman, I think they open at 8:00am Saturday morning and 9:00am Sunday morning....I have some meetings to attend but should be there Sunday Morning. We are trying to get a handgun deer season implemented to coinside with the early blackpowder season. Opposition is coming from blackpowder and archery folks....you just have to shake your head and wonder if we are all on the same team?

I do beleive I'll be there on Saturday. Need to trade my Ruger Mkll for a Browning Buckmark. Since this is the biggest maybe I'll get a deal

Don't get me wrong, I love archery hunters like my brother but I seem to encounter more opposition from them than I would expect from sportsmen. Then again I can see both sides of the equation. I don't mind being restricted to the shotgun season when using my revolver. Then again, I really don't mind spending the money on a license and tag and not coming out with a deer. It just feels wonderful being out there. Am I complacent? I can see where archers would want an initial season where the deer haven't been shot at and are not as skiddish so as to allow them to get in a little closer for a clean shot with a bow. I also see the benefits of having a handgun season and the progressiveness of this move in the field of gun rights and hunters rights. I guess my lack of bowhunting experience prevents me from fully understanding both sides of the equation.
