For those considering an air-pistol for cheap realistic handgun practice(best gun)

I was skeptical about using an airgun for practicing my concealed firearm presentation as well as marksmanship. Most of the "Realistic" airguns looked like real pistols or revolvers but left much to be desired,underpowered(400fps) and with the Semi-auto pistols even using a round cylinder type magazine, the likeness of a real gun ended at the looks. Then I bought an ANICS Skiff-3000a,this is an azazingly realistic semi-auto pistol,it is co2 powered,semi-auto,with a real 28 shot magazine. It will shoot any damn .177 pellet you want to use as well as BB's and sends these projectiles downrange at a respectable 500FPS(for comparison,a .380 caliber cartridge is rated at 900=950 fps) so it has serious can shredding power, when shooting pointed pellets it will easilly penetrate a 2x4.I am posting this because I remember some time ago someone asking about the Gamo p23,well this blows it away, literally. Calibre .177/4,5mm/BB Dimensions 185x144x36.8 mm Weight not loaded/loaded 720/785 g Barrel length 116,5 mm Magazine capacity 28 pellets or BB Number of shots with one CO2-cartridge min 75 shots Barrel grooves 6 (right) Groove length 400 mm Grouping (distance 10m) 1 inches (25 mm) http://www.anics.com/eng/

Looks interesting.Who sells them and how much are they? Will the CO2 leak down and lose its' charge if the cylinder is punctured and the gun stored?

Well Rick, looks can be deceiving I am merely giving a review/opinion of my experience in this airgun.I did not plug a store or company who sells them,as well I have no affiliation with ANICS.This was meant in the spirit of one man telling others about a product he enjoys. For anyone interested in purchasing one you must look around, they don't last in stock for long and only the better airgun suppliers carry them.V35,they hld a charge real well but for optimum power I like to use up what I am going to shoot and use a new cartridge next time. They say you get 75 full power shots per co2 cartridge however in my experience a fair number would be in the 50-60 shot range, again at optimum velocity.BTW,they are made in Moscow[This message has been edited by Josey1 (edited 01-19-2002).]

Josey, it was me that asked about those. And, I thank you for posting this thread. I ended up NOT buying the Gamo cause somebody said they rust really easily. Plus, I too thought that an 8 round capacity and 400fps was a little weak.I will look more closely into this brand, I am still very interested in getting an air gun that I can practice with. Thanks for yet another helpful post Josey1!!G36
