Would this country be better off if only land owners could vote?

Who here believes that there is life, intelligent or otherwise, on worlds besides our own, somewhere in the cosmos?

Why isn't the federal government building prisons to KEEP all the bad guys incarcerated? They are being let out EARLY due to prison over crowding. Rather a basic principle I would think.

I don't know why but some of the stupidest things stick in my brain until I have them explained. Is it true that, when placing a rifle in the hard case, it is not wise to place it so that the scope is facing the hinges of the case? I have been told that this places excessive pressure on the scope. It seems strange since most advertisements for double-rifle cases show one rifle with scope facing the hinges and one rifle facing the opening of the case. Is this a myth?

I put all my scoped rifles in a hard case like that and never had a problem, they all come out shootin like they went in.Might be something to that with the lesser quality scopes

I think you have been reading to many gun magazines. These magazines are good for the ads and about 10% of what is written by the gun writers.

It depends on how tight the case is around the scope. Near the hinge, there is less "give" to the outside of the case simply due to the geometry of the angle formed by the hinge. Ideally, the case would be wide enough to fit the scope comfortably (but snugly) when shut so this shouldn't be an issue. If it is, you have the wrong case!

Don't know, but off the top of my head.....since the handles are opposite the hinges, it would seem that if you put the 'scope TOWARD the hinges, the rifle would be riding upside-down and the weight of the rifle would be on the scope. This is assuming that the case lining doesn't squeeze enough to hold the rifle in place.Just a guess, though.
