Yep! Ain't it purty? Does exactly what you ask of it. Wrangler knows what his next purchase will be!

We dumped our Sigs for Glocks. One of the newer officers was giddy....oh my Glocks! He had to ask, "What do you think about the change?" My answer, "Well it's like a Cadillac and Studebaker. Put me in either one and I can drive it but I look a lot classier in a Caddy. I have a Glock 23, 21, and my duty 23. They all shoot and I can say I got em, but they're not my pick out of the stable.

The only attraction a Glock has to me is the mag capacity.
I have a Sig for single stack carry that works just fine.

Like it or not, the Glock full size pistols are the 21st century equivalent of the Colt Peacemaker. Rugged, reliable, and prolific.

We need the Glock for our police forces because their guns must be dependable and no other gun designer has ever been able to make a firearm that goes bang every time you pull the trigger. Only Glock managed this miracle, and I for one welcome our Austrian gun making overlords latest miracle with open arms a hearty handshake ... and a laurel, woven out of $20 bills....

I was a firearms instructor/rangemaster for the PD, when we supplied our own weapons, and after we issued SIGs. From what I saw in that capacity, the SIG pistols are more reliable than Glocks.

I saw Glocks fail to return to battery, simply from not being lubed, or from being a little dirty.

The only time I saw a SIG fail, it was Remington's fault for selling us defective ammo.

SIGs work dirty and dry, as well as they do when clean and lubed.

Just like the Original Glock 17, it's something that's never been done before.

Many moons ago I served several years as a firearms instructor for a regional LE academy where agencies from a 37 county region sent their recruits, so I was always dealing with a mixed bag of handgun types. In addition, my agency issues SIG pistols but Glock is on our list of approved personally owned backup/off duty guns personnel are allowed to carry and must qualify with.

Our personnel are only required to run one 50 round course of fire per year with those personal guns, but train multiple times a year with their issued SIG. This means I see around 35K rounds put through those duty pistols each year.

Based upon 20+ years of observing a whole lot of different folks put many tons of ammo through a lot of different handguns, the SIG's have shown to be the hands down winner when it comes to both reliability and accuracy.

It's not as if the Glocks are straight up jam-a-matics, but I do see malfunctions with them on the line from time to time. On the other hand, I honestly can't recall the last time I saw one of our issued SIG's malfunction.

To anyone who chooses the Glock, more power to you - but if I have to stake my life or someone else's on a pistol I'll take a SIG.

Would make a nice pocket pistol, if that photo is the actual size !

It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

Gee, I have a 1916 date P.08 Luger with a single stack 9mm magazine, must be a real fluke, because no one has done this before.

Difference is, the Luger is an attractive gun.

I dislike two things about the Glock. The looks and the stupid trigger 'safety.' The price is nothing to excite me, either.

I wouldn't want to carry one with the safety arrangement as it is, and would be embarrassed to own such an ugly gun. I'd sooner get a Hi point as, for just over 200 bucks, I could overlook it's ugliness.

I'm not going to say the 1911 is the pinnacle of handgun development, but it sure as hell looks better than a Glock.

Does that make it only half bad?

    Or just half as bad?

    Glock Math is tricky!

    Glock haters crack me up.
Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Agreed. Makes one wonder why they get so riled up and feel the need to put down a firearm. I think it has something to do with p3n15 envy. [:D]

Damn... Almost up to 50 [:0]. Curious if they'll ever do .22GLR ("G" for Glock like their GAP).

Not the ones I have fired.....I have a P380 and have fired a few examples of the CW9...the trigger pull is different but not necessarily "better" IMHO......
