If you buy ammo and send it through the mail do you have to pay haz mat fees? Thanks David

I was talking to the assistant manager at Walmart about ammo. He is a Lieutenant Colonel in the National Guard. He told me that ammo is probably going to go up 500%. He said that the military is pushing for higher prices and that if they do not get it that they will buy ammo somewhere else.

    Has anybody heard this?

I have dogs coming to my house and eating my dogs food. We have 4 automatic feeders. When my wife went outside to make the other dogs leave one of the dogs growled at my wife. When the dog did that Scooby tore his butt up. I was thinking of shooting them with 22 shot shells. Will that hurt them. I dont want to hurt them just get there attention and make them stay home. Any ideas David

Im building a 20 x 20 building at the back of my property and i was thinking about moving my ammo out there.

Would that be a good or bad idea? They are all stored in ammo cans but the do not all have silica gel packs in them.

I have no experience with it so I thought I would ask here.

    I just bought 2 boxes of Hornady Custom 45 auto +p 200 gr JHP/XTP.

    How good is this stuff?

I normally carry Hydrashock low recoil 45 165 gr.

Is it worth switching over too over my Hydra's?

I know it is alot cheeper to buy.

I was looking on GB for ammo and every one says pay exact shipping. If you buy ammo on the internet do you have to pay crazy prices for shipping like hazmat?

I tried doing an inventory a few years ago and best estimate was around 18,000 total for all calibers. I have added several thousand or so since. For 35 years I would buy when I saw stuff on sale and stash it away. Also filled shelves with reloads.

I like to keep an inventory just so I know what have at any given time. I dont have alot of stuff compared to many around here. I just went through the empty shotshell stuff and I have roughly 1200 hulls that need to be reloaded. That reminds me, I need to get to the reloading shop for more supplies.

I don't have any ammo except a loose 22LR laying around here or there. I was transporting all my guns and ammo in a canoe when a storm came up and; yup, you can guess the rest. [:D]

A boat is a hole in the water that has a mystical attraction power for money, guns, ammo and the upper portions of women's two-piece swimsuits [:p][:o)]

Thus for most purposes, I have avoided owning a boat~

Not keeping an accurate inventory as such. Since these last few recent years I tend to try and keep each of my calibers at 1000 rounds or more but don't succeed on all of them. I do know that my .22LR is between 10,000 and 12,000 rounds.

    the ,22WMR / .22WRF is 1000 to 2000,

    The .223/5.56mm is 1000 to 2000.

The .380ACP, 9mm, .38 Special are all at least 1000, but don't think over 1500.

.45ACP is my newest calber. Maybe 300 to 400 rounds on hand.

.30-06 is probably under a thousand, but over 500.

12ga is is probably around 300 to 500. It's what I shoot the least of.

I keep an inventory of mine. When I shoot I make sure to decuct the amount. It helps me from impulse buying. I'll see something on sale then look at my inventory on my phone and realize I probably won't shoot what I have in the next 10 years. [;)]

Well if I take all my wheelguns x6. Semi Auto pistols x 7-14 all my magazine fed rifles x20. Bolt action rifles times 5, shotguns times 3-8 and single shot guns x 1 I have about 287 rounds altogether.
