Who Has A Big Goofy Dog

My dog Bear is a mutt i got from the pound. He was housebroken and has great manners. It is funny to see a 4 year old tell a dog to sit and the dog sits.

He was on his last day when i saw him. I called them and said i was on the way to get him. He is not like my German Shepherd Sascha. Sascha could hear a mouse in the woods outside.

All Bear wants is to be rubbed or dog treats. He has 1 bad habit i do not like. When he wants to go out when we are sleeping he will like me in the mouth. So that is how i get woke up. One good thing is he is too big to lick his butt.

Bear is my wifes favorite all time dog. She rubs him for 2 minutes every night before bed. If my wife stays up too late he will bark and tell her it is time for his belly rub.

Sascha was a great dog but she was a 1 person dog. Bear is a 2 person dog. He is just a big goofy dog.

we have 5 dogs all have different little personal traits .
we have a German Shepard 135 pounds of big baby , he is a great guard dog no one can come in unannounced you would think he was in th kill mode , but its like a game for him , he refuses to climb any steps . he will do a 180 and back thru the door into the living room , any loud noise he is gone , we got him he was about 10 to 12 weeks old , not sure what the original owners did do scare him so bad . he has a fear of guns , if we are shooting he will hide . but if we just have a gun he will hide . I guess the oil smell triggers it for him ?
we have a Siberian Husky close to a year old she is the most demanding and voice full dog I have ever seen , she has a range of noises that's funny as heck . she will start stomping her front feet if you ignore her . could go on but those two are the two that stand out ,

    I have a 10yo 104# male Airedale "Jiggs"
I recently posted about him nearly dying from falling into a feed spud pit, he has recovered fully.
He thinks even at 10, that he should be able to crawl in my lap same as he did as a pup.
When walking through barnyard and pens, he is constantly rubbing or leaning on me.

When in the hill and sitting down for lunch or just a break he thinks he should be touching me. In camp, if I get up in the night to check the mules, he feels it is his duty to crawl in my sleeping bag, even if he just came in from the creek and having a drink.

Yes, he gets cussed and called Bonehead, but I wouldn't trade his loyalty for gold.

Our other 10 yo 80# Airedale "Maggie" is offish to strangers, but when I am out riding she will follow me across the swiftest of river crossings and is very protective of my wife and Grandkids. She is soft hearted and when you scold her she acts like she has been whipped.
These dogs have followed long side me and my mules hundreds and hundreds of miles of mountain trails, packing camps in and out, fishing trail riding, and pushing cows. Always pack a extra sandwich for each, that way I get at least part of one.
They have had many close encounter with bears and fear them not in the least, Maggie has chased several out of camp and put the run on several we have just rode into. but if there is a moose nearby, they would crawl on the mule with me if they could, don't know why as they have never gotten stomped by one.

Bonnie is the St Bernard of the house. She is goofy as can be!!! She trips over her own feet....farts...falls off the couch....she smiles in her sleep....she insists on snuggle time....if you sit on the couch and don't make it VERY clear that she is not allowed she will get up next to you and LEAN OVER onto you.....sometimes when she is REALLY excited and running around she forgets and bounces off your chest. My daughter taught her to jump up on her chest so she was eye level with her and would talk to her and pet her. This is a horrible thing and is hard to get her past it. If she makes eye contact with you....she thinks you are asking for some one on one eye level lovin.

She is WONDERFUL. We finally let her inside with all the other dogs. She is one of the family now.

I have two old small dogs, one is something like 11 a rescue dog, took him to give him his last years in a good home. Who knows what his past had been. The other is 13, had him since a puppy. Both spend their days sleeping and staying warm, nothing exciting about either other than they are damn good company. The 13 year old a Fox Terrier was hell on wheels when young he did his job guess he thinks he is now retired

Had some great dogs through the years, these are the last will be 80 in April and it isn't fair to a young dog get him/her started and Mother Nature takes her toll on me and the young dog is hanging there

Protection---neither can hear it is almost all hand signals, could build a new railroad through the middle of the house and run the first train they wouldn't stir from their rest unless it is pee time or food time when the inner clock kicks in

When laying on the couch watching TV and both dogs are laying there with me---What can I say other than it just doesn't get any better. Nature's way of the three of us quietly growing old together

When you both get a "time out" for getting too wild, spend it with your partner in crime.

I have a goofy little dog that thinks he is a big dog. Dudley is almost 14, blind in one eye and is loosing his sense of smell. He has been the best little buddy all these years. We got him when he was one. He lived with one of his litter mates and together the two were trouble. So the folks that owned him gave him to us.
