I don't get it? Why did the officers force a ticket? Both people seemed decent enough and were told wrong info by staff at this summer fest.

Why not let the folks off with a warning and just tell them they aren't allowed in there? If they decide not to listen then hammer them. In my opinion this is a small example why even decent people trying to follow the law are losing their trust with officers.

Now, if these are legal in places, where others are not, then, I guess, they'd be worth a lot.

polychocke will really cut the value for a lot of folks, was offered one at a show a few months back just like it except for the polychoke, for $400. he sold it before I could sell mine, didn't have enough cash on me at time.

The added choke, added recoil pad (possibly cut), condition, and being re-chambered from 2 9/16 to 2 3/4 all hurt value, but it would probably be a nice shooter. So, the starting price is probably about right.

If it was originally a 16ga with 2 9/16" chamber the barrel will read "16ga 2 9/16" Chamber" If the barrel only says 16ga then the barrel has been changed. At one time Browning was offering either a barrel switch or would rechamber the existing barrel also having to open the ejection port a bit to accomadate the extra shell lenght with either conversion. About a year ago I sold one on gunbroker that was marked 2 9/16" chamber and had not been lengthened that was made in 1939 and it only brought around $550. in excellent condition.
