In light of the recent attempt by CNBC to torpedo Remington. I have decided to put my money where my mouth is and purchase a Remington 700. M 700SPS in .300 win mag. I think I did alright!

My gunshop in Sweden has the 700 VS in stock, how good is it compared to the PSS and 40X?
He cannot order the PSS and the 40X is pretty expensive!
Looking for a accurate rifle up tp 600m!

I have been useing Davids 30-06 but since he is right and I am left... well it is a good reason for me to buy my own. My birthday is this month so guess what I am getting myself.

Ok so here is the question...

30-06, 270 or 7mm? I will be useing it for deer mostly. I have a 30-30 I use hog hunting. Those who have these... give me the pros/cons please.

Are all 700 actions created equal. Is the action on a ADL the sakes as on a sondero?

You won't find a better production gun. Some cost more, some are prettier, but none will outshoot it. The heavy barrel and HS precision stock on those rifles makes them very accurate. The adjustable trigger is also a very nice feature of the 700's. I have many, and they are all great shooters. Some minor gunsmithing and they are amazing. I suppose that if you are looking for 600m, that it is the .308 version. One other great aspect of the 700's, they are the easiest and one of the strongest actions to rechamber for other calibers.

A great rifle with a junk scope,....is junk.

Probably not a whole lot of difference in the VS and PSS in accuracy to be honest. If that's what is available you should be pleased with the VS. A lot of them tend to be .5-.6 MOA out of the box that I have seen. Try it you'll like it. GHD

Buy it. And buy the best optics you can for it. Then save some more money, and have a Hart barrel installed on it. And then the only thing limiting the accuracy of the gun will be you.

If I'm wrong please correct me, I won't be offended.

You don't need to install a Hart barrel!!!! Leeblackman, I'm correcting you because you are wrong!!! The barrel on the VS is good enough to shoot small groups for a long time with proper care! After it is worn out you can put another barrel on it! I still don't know whether I'd put a Hart on it or not! GHD

If I'm gettin a VS, it's gonna be the .308 version!
Lot's of good match ammo from Swedish Norma, Finnish Lapua as well as Federal loads avaliable here in Sweden!

A Hart barrel might be a little hard to pull off from Sweden anyway.

Since when did the overseas trading stopped?
It might be more expensive, almost everything can be imported to Sweden (So far anyway)
