I was in a small gas station I use to fill my work truck. This is a small privately owned place owned by a pakistani. No problem so far, well, we've talked before about the "war" and he made it known that he loves afganistan and everything about it. Fine. Well today he is feverishly packing boxes of batteries to ship home, actually every last one that was in the store. Said they was needed back home and wouldn't say any more. Now, ya 'supose those batteries are for the boys in the caves?Just seemed odd to me, thought about calling someone, but it's not illegal to ship batteries, what do y'all think? -Ralph

I own a taxi/limo service and have worked with these people. Let me tell you something. I don't care if they are doctors, mechanics, dentists etc. YOU CAN'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE. THEY LIE, LIE, LIE with an evil smile. I would mention it to the FBI. I bet that the flight instructors from Fla. wished that they had mentioned something. Thanks

I'd say report it. Who knows what they're using 'em for? And if you're wrong, what are you out? And oh, yeah, find another place to get gas.

Who is to say where those batteries are really going. They very well could be used to detonate an explosive here in the US. It would be the best to tell someone. I would not want that on my conscience if people were killed because of my silence.

I'd email America's Most Wanted; but remember a lot of people from that "Middle East" region are here because they CAN'T STAND the sort of governments that exist in their home country--his action is probably very innocent; just trying to help out his friends and relatives. The FBI doesn't take email, and unless this guy is already under suspicion, they probably won't know what to do with your report--America's Most Wanted could handle "this is odd" information better than the FBI--and would alert the FBI if there was some "pattern" across the nation, or other suspicious activities relating to that station/owner.

I won't be so ignorant to say that all these people are liars and bad people, because thats not true. BUT I do think this should be mentioned to some sort of authority, fast.

OK update, my old school girlfriend's dad is FBI agent around here, called him at home, let him know what went on. He said he was going to call an agent friend in that area and have him check into it. He acted interested, not like he was just going through motions for my sake. They might need them for their Walkman to play that groovy Afghan music while marching into battle against a B-52. Will an AK-47 shoot 50,000 feet straight up?I didn't think so.

You ought to show back up there with a BIG box and offer to box him up and send him back with the batteries!!! If he loves the damn place so much, then by all means why doesn't he go back and stay?

I think some of you guys need to lighten up just a little. If his village has been bombed back to the stone age courtesy of the United States Navy as well as a few errant air force bombs chances are pretty good that the home boys electricity doesn't work anymore in the home boys(relatives) village. Getting great American Energizer or Coppertop batteries that will last longer than the Russian or Middle Eastern pieces of fecal material makes sense. And if he is like most Pakistanis he is a pretty good business man and he knows his home boys might just be able to turn a quick and needed profit in the town selling some of those good batteries to some friends to power their previously hidden boom boxes that have been in cold storage during the time of the Taliban. Talking about Pakistani's I spent four months on the ground in Mogadishu Somalia at Green Beach.....I looked around for the safest place for my Beachmasters and we ended up bunking with the Pak's. Their security is the tightest I've ever seen. Significantly better than the Marines and we won't even talk about how p*ss poor 10th Mountain Division was. The Pak's shot first and didn't even bother asking questions later. If you didn't belong there they simply killed you.....It truly got the Somaliee's attention and they avoided our compound like the plague. I found the officers and enlisted men of the Pakistani Army to be honorable warriors and I know we slept soundly at night knowing the Pakistani Army had our backs. I'd like to think the Pak's slept as soundly when we took the watch for them. Beach

And to add to beachmasters comments, I thought I remember hearing the Pakistani's gave us a big hand with their armored personnel carriers over there when things went south for us and we didn't have quick access to armored ground vehicles. My guess is he's doing it for profit.

ED P, the Paks and the Malaysians drove the armor in a rescue convoy into Mog on that day when nothing went according to plan. They had the only armor nearby, we didnt have any. You can thank Slick Willy for that one, btw.Unfortunately, their drivers werent up to Ranger standards. They drove too fast and got lost, and then made everyone get out and disassemble a road barricade by hand instead of driving through it because they were afraid it was mined.
