Our government tells us it's OK to fly now! After all, it's been three weeks since the attack! Feel safe, do you?Consider this: 35,000 flights take off in this country every 24 hours.There are 35 sky marshals on the US Government payroll today.You have a 1% chance of getting a sky marshal, the other 99% are on their own!

    So 35,000 flights took off and landed safely today. None crashed, none were hi-jacked and none were blown up in the air. Not bad for a day's flying.

    Dear Cop: Your statistics are off. Since we have no evidence it is safer to fly on a plane with a sky marshall than without, the numbers are moot. If you got on a plane yesterday and landed safely, it had nothing to do with sky marshalls. You are getting up set over nothing, though more sky marshalls would probably make us all feel safer if nothing else.

    HeDog....I was not thinking of myself on that post. I was concerned for all the people who are being lead to believe that things are better now than they were before 9-11. I always carry aboard aircraft, and have never been turned down by any American carrier.GOD BLESS AMERICA!

    njretcop, Are you telling me the airlines allow retired cops to carry on board? I don't believe that but if it is so the problem is solved. Just give our finest free airline tickets to their vacation spots if they will agree to carry. Problem solved. Rosie

    There are sky marshalls on most flights.Don't do this panty waist crap in my air space. Or your macho crap. You may get beaten.I'm not giving into fear. Those jets are going home, with the bad guys handcuffed to the floor. I doubt I will ever see a case of air rage again.Panic is what the terrorists want!
