I need a gun for Dove hunting. My neighbor Shootinbuddy has a 10ga double barrel. I thought about borrowing. Would it be big enough or should I get an 8ga?

My theory is that you can never over gun on birds so go with the 8 gauge.

Go ahead and get one of those cannons they used to put on punt boats. Then you are set for duck season too.[:D]
Bet Shooting Buddy has one for his golf cart you could borrow. He could show you how to mount yours on a boat when you get it.

Personally I use solid projectiles on charging doves. And semi-autos are best because they often attack in numbers.

    Get yourself a good 20mm bofor's cannon with Anti-aircraft shells -
then you are set for dove, quail and even duck[:D]

JuJu (just mount it in the back of your pickup)

While we are on the subject. Could you hunt deer with a BB gun?

Yes- Hold the BB gun, with both hands, directly behind the front sight. Approach the deer from behind and with a great downward swing, strike the animal in the center of the neck with the comb of the stock. It will drop like a rock-Bob

Of course you can hunt deer with a BB gun. Just get the velocity above 5,000 fps and the deer drop in their tracks. But be sure to use hollowpoint BB's.
