I'm pretty much done for now, but next time I hit the sandbox, there's only one thing on my shopping list:

    http://www.barrettrifles.com/rifle_82.aspx

    THE Barrett M82A1.

    That's funny.

i looked at my last post on this thread and realized the MKII didn't sell, so I've been shooting it. My father-in-law gave me a single six and I managed to aquire a couple of 45's in the meantime.

I realized that I don't plan gun purchases, I just sort of stumble into them.
I still want a Marlin lever gun of some sort.
    Or another 1911.
    Or a 12-ga defender-type
Or another Smith & Wesson 357.
Make that damn near any Smith & Wesson, as long as it's pre-lock.
    Or an SKS.
    Or a left-hand varmint gun.
    Or any left-hand bolt gun.

    Or.....

    In no particular order:

    Build an AR in 223.
    Build a 1911 in 45 acp.
Ruger single six with 22LR & 22 Mag cylinders (I have ALWAYS wanted one).
    Or...a 243 just like this....I can purchase for $479+tax+shipping.

Well, so far only Nwcid seems to have recognized that this was a revived thread from 2005 asking "did you fulfill that goal?" So why shouldn't I pretend it's not a current thread, too? (I didn't respond to the original thread).

Next purchase: Some kind of AK47, I think, or else a .22 revolver if I bump into the right one at the right price.

But I'm a poor grad student, I just dropped $900 on a new pistol and expect to drop another $1200 importing guns that were left to me as a bequest, so.......it might be a while. But I'm not complaining. $1200 import fees for five guns.......sounds like a pretty good deal to me. And these are guns that I really do HAVE to acquire because they were willed to me!

    Yep!

    win70.jpg

Put a Bushnell 3200 Elite 3-9X40 and had the trigger to 3 lbs. Shoots like a dream.

Now I'm looking for a centerfire 22 bolt action or maybe a .243 or 6mm. Still thinking about the specifics.

Pistol-S&W 29 or 629. Ireally do like the classic Smith look of the 29 though.

I don't think I've ever "planned" a gun purchase.Oh,maybe a couple of times over the years.

They've all been spur of the moment, when a deal pops up kind'a things.

The "want list" is long, but until the "good deal" comes along, the wanting will continue.

I never plan my gun purchases. I buy what is a good deal at the time. If I go out looking for something specific, I'll invariably pay too much for it.

I was thinking of one of those Kel Tec Sub 16 C .223 that can fire folded etc. It's front grips fold out to bi pod, it can go pistol or fold completely for storage. Cool I don't know if it's any good but it's different.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!
