A Palestinian Little Girl Wounded by Israeli Settlers in Hebron
HEBRON, Palestine, February 18, 2004 (IPC+ Agencies)-- Islam De'na,13, of the Wadi Alnassara neighborhood in the West Bank city of Hebron, has been wounded with bruises in different parts of her body as a number of armed Jewish settlers, based illegally on Palestinian-owned lands, attacked once again the Wadi Alnasara neighborhood, Palestinian local sources said.
Monther De'na, father of victim Islam, told WAFA News Agency that a mob of Jewish settlers stormed their neighborhood early on Wednesday dawn and started attacking the houses along with his own house, where his daughter Islam has been hit with the settlers' clubs.
De'na and other inhabitants confirmed that the settlers smashed windows of the houses and cast panic among children and women, in front of the Israeli occupying forces eyes.
They emphasized that these settlers have been frequently attacking their neighborhood, apparently to force them to leave their houses and the whole neighborhood, so that the settlers seize it to expand their nearby Kiryat Arba' settlement, which is established on Palestinian-owned lands in the Hebron city.
These developments came concurrent with statements made by the former head of the Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH), Jan Kristensen, who completed his one-year term of office in Hebron last week.
Kristensen told the online edition of Haratez Israeli Daily that "activity of the settlers and the (Israeli) army in the H-2 area of Hebron is creating an irreversible situation. In a sense, cleansing is being carried out. In other words, if the situation continues for another few years, the result will be that no Palestinians will remain there. It is a miracle they have managed to remain there until now".
