The best choke for shooting trap at 16 yards and why? Thanks.

Ted Kennedy's breath has killed more people than my car.

You are going to hear a dozen different reasons why you should use one or the other. I shall put my part in now. I always used full only no matter what yardage. It would drive me crazy changing chokes constantly like some of the other guys do. Lets face it, if you are on that day you are on no matter what choke you are using. Step back 35 yards and pattern your gun with a full and a mod. and you won't notice enough difference to worry about it. Do a complete pattern job. Not one shot from each.

As Rosie stated, you are going to hear lots of opinions. So here's mine.
I shot registered trap for many years. I used a Light Modified for 16 yards, and a modified for 27 yard handicap. For doubles I used a skeet for the first shot and a modified for the second. Worked fine for me.
I broke many 100's and several 200's at 16 yards and numerous scores in the high 90's at handicap. Never borke a 100 at 27 yards, but acouple of 99's. Like Rosie said, find out the distance you are breaking the target and then pattern your shot at that range. Not just one or two shots, but
many. Also try different loads as they all do not pattern the same.
