Is beer considered a clear liquid before it is used?[:)]

I know a bunch of you have been through this stupid procedure, and I'm sure there are some fond memories to be shared.

I had some jello and water for breakfast, mmmmmmm good. I didn't like jello yesterday, and I like it even less today. On the bright side, lunch will be some yummy chicken broth!

Probably around dinner time, I might get a little grumpy, so I'm going outside to kill some paper.

Don't drink too much beer or anything else as your time approaches. You'll be plenty filled up with the gallon of liquid you have to slurp down to get things draining.[}:)] Went through at the end of March. The prep is the worst. I slept quite nicely through the procedure itself.[:D]

UNLESS YOU ARE CLOSE TO A OUTHOUSE [}:)][8D]

If inside, stay close to the crapper [^][:D]

Went through my first one a couple months ago [:(]
The bad part is the crap you have drink the day before [xx(]

Don't think you can stay out long enough about dinner to kill paper [:o)]

then you got a bozo for a colonoscopy doc...NO reason to be awake ...NONE except a sadist doc...started them at 55 because my dad took 5 years to die miserably from a colon cancer start...lost several friends also...I have had NO discomfort, gas, or any lingering effects and I will do these in the town square at high noon to prevent dying as these people did...it is the most preventable disease by simple checks...now they have a 360 degree camera pill you can swallow and run thru..still got to prep.... and the camera costs about $200....show the films at family dinners, whatever, and STAY LIVE

Had a few, and absolutely no big deal. A nice trip thru dreamland, and it's over. The alternative to not having the procedure and having any polyps develop into something much worse is what is not appealing.

Downside to the camera, if any polyps are found, must go through a regular colonoscopy to get them removed, as the camera only captures images.

[:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][:0][8)][8)][8)][8)][8)][8)][:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)][:o)] Just follow the instruction to the letter that they gave you. If you do not they will cancel the procedure and charge you for a setup and time. The insurance company does not look kindly on that. As said previously wishing you all the best.

Had mine two months ago. Other than prep being unpleasant, the event itself in a non-event. IF they had found polyps during the 'scope, they would have removed them right then. Mine was done under a general anesthetic (8 seconds from push the plunger to goodnight Gracie)

If you are doing the Gatorade/ Apple Juice prep, keep them ice cold- goes down better, and you ARE going to drink a LOT of liquids. Use a pen and pad and kithen timer to keep track of the doses- there are a LOT of them to drink- you CAN lose track.

Get some baby wipes, chill them in the fridge. you can thank me later. Someone said stay near a bathroom. Try stay IN the bathroom.

Beer? No- you are going to be verging on dehydration even with all the liquids you drink.

Had to go in for an endoscopy a couple years ago. The doc remembered me enough to know that I skipped out on a colonoscopy a couple years before that. So he wrote me a pass for thee days off work (the end of my week, so it was a five day weekend for me) and told me he was doing both the same day. I told doc I'd wake up if he didn't make sure I was all the way out. He told me "Never happen. Nobody wakes up". I did. With a tube jammed down my throat. The nurse anesthetist put me back out, and what seemed like a second later I woke up with a tube going the other way. Then I woke up in the recovery room. By the time I got home 45 miles away I was fine. No after-effects at all. At least I know they did the top end first. If you do or did use recreational substances that may have been illegal, you might want to let the doc know so he can make proper arrangements. If not, you'll be fine. Me, I'd been clean and sober 24 years at that point, and my liver thought that it was the good old days.

Due for my 3rd one next year. Other than the unpleasant prep already described, really nothing to it. Like most, I was out and unaware of the procedure, no ill effects afterward. One funny comment about my first...the recovery room nurse told me I had to pass gas before I could leave. Said "this is probably the only time a woman will ever tell you to fart, so enjoy it." [:0]

Well, thanks for the well wishes. I just started the drano, and with that said, this will be my last post today.

I had an upper scope done about fifteen years ago, and they told me the drug they gave me would erase my memory of the event, well BS, I remember everything including the ugly * nice lady that stuck that spray nozzle down my throat, and then them pumping me full of air and everyone in the room yelling at me to stop trying to vomit.[xx(]

If this procedure goes anything like that one, I might be doing some jail time![:(!]

1st Endoscopy(The other end) they only put me part way out. Something in my mind went off and that scope had to come out. They could not stop me.

Second time they had a cute doctor and nurse going to do the procedure. So I reminded them of what had happened. They checked my records and knocked me out cold I remember Nothing.

I jack around on GBGD a bunch.

But I'm being 100% serious at this point.

Colon cancer is 100% survivable. IF IT IS CAUGHT IN TIME.
It is usually asymtomatic. Until it isn't. And then it is too late.

If you have pooping trouble post procedure, get you a lawyer. You will be rich.

But hopefully, you will wake up refreshed. With no memory of the event and a clean bill of health.

I had one 4 years ago. The anesthestist gal asked me "Do you want to do it fully awake, or would you like some anesthetic?

I said "Are you kidding me? I want the dope that Michael Jackson used."
She thought that was pretty funny. I don't know if she used propofol, or what, but it worked. I was conscious but seriously doped-up, I couldn't feel a thing. It was a pretty good buzz, too.

Thank God they said I didn't have to come back for 10 years.

    1. Make sure that you are actually seeing a doctor, and not a hobbiest;

    2. If you can feel something back there, but see both of the doctor's hands, it's time to end the exam....[;)]

I'd insist that the doctor buy you flowers and take you out for dinner afterwards.
