I've been reading a lot of Alan Furst of late. He has a series of WWII espionage novels, with all sorts of great details of tanks, planes, and guns--especially the guns--of the time. The writing is first rate, really quite good, and I how he gets all the little details just right. I was wondering if anyone else has read any of his books.

Not yet, but I'll look. What's a good one to start with?

I think The Polish Officer is very good, very readable and some great details here and there. Kingdom of Shadows is tougher, but also quite rewarding. Red Gold is good as well. I just finished Shadow Trade, which is an early work not in the WWII group. It's very good, but not as good as all of the above. I think you'll like any of them.
